born in dublin, ireland, to a schoolteacher and a nurse who moved to new orleans ten years after the birth of their first child, rosaline dominique o’flaherty is the first of four children. as previously mentioned, she was ten when she left ireland for new orleans ; her accent remains as strong as ever, and she makes trips back to ireland every year.
having lived in the french quarter and hearing multitudes of languages, rose found herself attracted to language and, after graduating with a 4.0 gpa, rose o’flaherty finds herself studying english at nyu and studying three other languages on the side. as a result, she can speak english, gaelic, french, german and italian fluently.

she also finds herself getting married roughly a semester in. she marries her high school sweetheart, and the love they share is inexplicable. they’re a whirlwind, and she still loves him, all these years later.
her parents died shortly after her twentieth birthday in an airflight crash, and it devastated her beyond measure. unbeknownst to rose, she’s also pregnant with her first child at this point. antonio isn’t her husband’s, and her husband knows that, but they both love and cherish the little boy from the moment he took his first shaky breath.
rose and her husband file for divorce roughly two years after antonio’s birth, and she dives almost instantly into her next relationship. it’s here that she becomes rosaline bianchi, co - head of the bianchi organised crime family, bona fide ice queen and fucking demon of fall port.
every weekend, she goes to dinner with her ex - husband and they remain the closest and most unlikely of best friends.
