For the Avengers, I just recommend any of the comics, can't go wrong with that!

I also looked for some books similar to Sherlock Holmes/Sherlock, and there were many crossovers, but I would personally just reccomand the original stories, but some of the crossovers did have potential.

I'm sorry to say that I haven't read all of these books, but mmany of them were given good ratings by people who have seen the series. I found that some of them had themes that just barely tied to the series, but still looked really good.
