I have practiced magic, and I've watched it work. It has been decided that I am a conjurer. This is maybe my last photo dump from the #BlackLoveConvergence. It was a journey making it happen, but I'm super grateful for @matticehaynes for this gift just before my birthday. I'm grateful for everything that aligned to make it possible, the blessings of the Gullah/Geechee folks, the space & organizers, @adriennemareebrown for boosting the foundation of #BlackPleasure this go round. My #EasterSunday was spent in communion with Black folks on Black lands celebrating Black Pleasure. I went to the water in ritual, gave offerings to our ancestors, took in our drums, and soaked in the sun when it came thru the clouds. It was a process getting here. After my final time deciding (running out of options otherwise) to stay in Ga, I had to force some form of grace to let certain folks know not to expect me. Soon after, a resolution came. And as I got closer, my chest warmed. Even as a country girl, witnessing the many oaks drapped in moss brought tears before my feet could even touch the land. Walking this land was a baptism.
