Commission - Miniatures from the Fallout Board Game, standard quality. Completed August 2018.
Tire pile to provide cover in 28mm scale skirmish wargames -- 4 tires and a few other bits scavenged from a broken toy truck, superglued to an MDF base with gravel texture, painted with rust effects
Brotherhood of Steel troopers search a junkyard while a scavenger tries to evade (Grenadier Kryomek Nexus SWAT and Future Warriors scavenger, converted toy car, scratch-built junk pile and storage tank)
My camera is refusing to focus on them anymore. I finally got Strong, Nick, and Hancock’s arms on and them attached to their bases. Eventually, I’ll find the time to paint them, along with all my other minifigs.
Jada Toys made the For Sale line of nominally 1/64 scale* vehicles several years ago, painted with rust, dust, and “for sale” signs on the windshields. The 1940s-50s trucks are perfect for Fallout-inspired postapocalyptic wargaming. The muscle cars also have mismatched color panels and bondo patches, and they would fit in a Mad Max-type setting. Any of them could work in modern skirmish games set somewhere in the USA. The “For Sale” signs could be left as-is or painted over with dirty windshield colors.
*There are many different sized cars out there labeled 1/64, but these are the big ones that fit with 28mm figures, not the little Hot Wheels.
From an inexpensive Cars 3 Flo to https://jakestabletop.tumblr.com/post/165972652936/the-chryslus-corvega-was-the-car-everyone-wanted.
The Chryslus Corvega was the car everyone wanted parked in their pre-war suburban driveway (converted Cars 3 “Flo” and Grenadier Future Warriors scavenger by Mark Copplestone)
A scavenger checks a row of abandoned vehicles while searching the wasteland for valuable scrap. (Rusty trucks from Jada’s For Sale line, converted Cars 3 Flo Corvega, and Grenadier Future Warriors scavenger for scale)
