I just saw the *worst* ad ever. It's for a company called "Support Pets" and the ad started by asking me if I want to "legally bring my pet anywhere" and then spent a minute trying to sell me a spiel about getting my pet registered as an emotional support animal.
This *disgusts* me. ESA's are NOT legally allowed anywhere. They are protected in *housing* and that is IT. They cannot go to stores, restaurants, etc.
*SERVICE ANIMALS* are legally allowed anywhere because they provide SERVICES TO THEIR OWNERS that helo their owners function in real life.
BS like this is why I and my sister and her service dog have been kicked out of two restaurants. Because people do shit like this and claim their dogs/cats/hamsters/whatever as something *they are not.*
I am NOT knocking on ESAs. They provide assistance to their owners as well. But they don't do JOBS. And people doing BS like what Support Pets is telling people they can do makes my sister's life and others who NEED service animals lives even HARDER.
Don't do this. DO. NOT.
