Ok, updates on my tf2 au! This is gonna be a bit of a long post, and I'll probably add more later. For now, it'll include a list of all their species, and some extra backstory bits.
First off, the full list of species! Not including Spy, who is an adult human.
Scout - Velociraptor (fast, not very strong alone but work well in a group, I didn't want to go the basic bunny route)
Soldier - Army ant (the name. Also, oh my god these things are terrifying)
Sniper - Moss Mantis (lies in wait, takes a long time to strike but when he does? It's over)
Heavy - Orloff Rooster (Russian breed, big, the protector!)
Medic - Mouse (lab rat theme, seems harmless but can be a total menace)
Demoman - Bombardier beetle (do I even need to explain?)
Engineer - Beaver (good at building things! Also, he says damn a lot, so. Funny!)
Pyro - Angelshark (I was originally just going to do an angel, but my friend pointed out the pyro loadout things that literally turn them into a shark. So.)
Hopefully I should have my first drawings of all of them done soon! I have the first three fully sketched and ready to ink (Scout, Medic, + Heavy) and one more about halfway done (Soldier).
The storyline, which almost doesn't exist, is pretty simple right now. Scout's ma is most likely dead (Sorry) and he is alone, broke, and hungry. He probably finds some kind of meat jerky in a ziploc, eats it, and boom. He wakes up as a monster kid with very little memory of anything.
He thinks this is sick af, since he's a dinosaur, but still. He's hungry and lost and now doesn't remember anything, so he just starts wandering around. Eventually he manages to find a ragtag group of other kids who seem to be in the same situation, and they join together into a pack because none of them can really survive on their own.
Cut to spy's perspective. The woman he had a child with some time ago is dead, and her son has been reported missing. He figures he could do her one last favor, as an apology: find her son. So he starts searching, tracking the kid down. But what he finds isn't one human kid; it's eight little monster kids, including one raptor that acts suspiciously like the one he's looking for. And now he has to figure out what the hell he's supposed to do with EIGHT kids. If it had just been Jeremy, he could've just taken the kid to a shelter of some sort to get him to a new family. But this is eight kids, and they're all feral. ..and they seem rather attached to him. So now he's forced to handle eight feral monsters who WILL NOT LEAVE HIM ALONE.
