i LOVE seeing you on my dash solely because of the love and care you put into your portrayal of mitch! the complexities and nuances of his character are so well-crafted, reading your au/verse posts, replies, and headcanons seriously just feels like a gift. you’re a mega talented writer and im glad you’re in the community!!

You’re such a sweetheart...! Golly... Honestly, I’ll never stop saying how grateful I was to be accepted into the fandom when I was having such a hard time in my life! Like, seriously...the time I came here, I was basically lying on my bed and crying most days from where I came from due to the insane stress the place I came from gave me (I went over this once before but for those of you unaware, the tl;dr is: I was being constantly harassed and stalked by someone, they kept namedropping me and I’d be told about it, the last big thing they did made the entire dash choose between me and them, which really messed me up since we weren’t talking, I had them blocked, and I thought we were done, and it got to the point where I felt like a shaking mess just being on the dash since I didn’t know when they might cause drama again even though we weren’t even TALKING anymore ; I’d say more but it’s a really long story and this is already long enough). 

When I found you guys here, I just felt so excited, then you accepted me into the fandom without hesitation, I’ve never felt more free? I’m still like a shaking pup from my past experiences which has given me MASS anxiety over everything I do, but this place feels like a home... I love you guys SO freaking much!!

Even the people I don’t get to talk to (either haven’t gotten to yet or not regularly) I adore from afar! It’s just been such a wonderful experience! Thank you... I can never NOT stress the amount of gratitude I have toward you guys and your amazing portrayals and personalities and just the welcoming feeling I have!

It’s okay! I’m happiest to have found this place where I can smile when I open up the dash and just speak to people who are nice to me! It’s such an amazing feeling to feel...welcomed! I can’t express my joy fully just by typing, but I still wanna thank you all to the ends of the world! I hope I can be as much of a happy feeling to EVERYONE as they are to me here!

THANK YOU SO MUCH! Complex topics are extremely important to explore and evaluate (not to romanticize because I have seen people do that and it’s...yucky)! Mitch’s struggles hit me super hard and it’s why he became a character I took on as my favorite!

He’s a complex muse that I feel so happy I’ve had the chance to explore, because I do relate to a lot of aspects of him in terms of behavioral analysis before I managed to get myself psychological help (counseling, meetings, life goals, medication, and all the bells and whistles at long last). Even the inclusion of his ex builds off his characterization for me of why he values the certain aspect so hard of: you focus too hard on WHO people used to be that you can’t see what’s in front of you.

Mitch also was a HUGE CHARACTER OF FORESHADOW. Like, he had so many damn lines that just told you the exact nature of the story but hindsight is 20/20. Like, he predicted his death a few times, the situation with Minnie (including Tenn and Violet) and James (determinant based on his death and how AJ can’t stop seeing him as his former self before Clem snaps him out of it), and was the antithesis of James’s ideological approach toward walkers.

True that. Mitch has a ton going on at home in his no apocalypse situation as it is, but in the verses with the apocalypse, he’s got so much already that damaged him in the past and continued to damage him (ie: his dad ditching him, his hoping his dad might actually still love him, coming to realize he doesn’t and probably never did, watching those gates and giving up hope, the other adults of his life ditching him, Ms. Martin (though not her fault and not something she’s inherently to blame for since no one can predict it) dying and the situation covering him in a stony resolve that adults are just full of lies and broken promises, the DELTA as a whole with kidnapping and forcing kids to fight for them -- ). 

Damaged to the point where he just feels like no adult ever means what they say to him anymore.

He’s not the only one who has these intense feelings either! A majority of the kids probably feel a similar situation to his, though with different reasons and circumstances, and it’s just tragic that a lot of them have this. I mean, Mitch still does have those sad feelings of longing and love toward his father, even if the man didn’t feel the same, which hurts so much for him (which you can see when he talks about him in ep 2) and that’s normal for children, too... Like, children from homes like his will often have those emotions and it’s awful (I know I do and there’s a post on that kind of thing since the world is never coated black and white for anyone).

Literally, the boys (at least quite a few of them) seem to have this dumb thing where they’re like, “A dare’s a dare! Gotta do it!” so anyone could dare mitch at any time and he’d do it to avoid being called a wuss LFJDSLKAFJ

OH, MAN, but I got a really good offer before that one for 2000! How generous of them! I can’t wait for the welcoming posters!! That’s 3/5 of my multimuse they’ve been bothering!
