Friday, the 13th... Grateful and Follow, follow!!!
Today is Friday, January 13th! I believe this coincidence brings great luck!
My FIL is getting his toe amputated today to prevent the infection from reaching the bone area. Diabetes is a bitch! DH is in Maine now visiting my MIL and all I could think is that this is sort of perfect timing. He's shuffling himself between Portland and Lewiston.
Why am I grateful?
-DH is gainfully employed and able to take the time off to care for his parents. This is why Sick Time was created…for situations of this nature. This is why I don’t play around with these type of job benefits, but that’s a venting session for a whole different day.
-He originally left to take advantage of two days off in a row (yup, the perks of working retail), but had to call out until Sunday. His supervisor is very understanding and knows that as an only child, this is not negotiable.
-I believe both my in-laws will heal just fine. We’re just being challenged both emotionally and financially, but this is not what life is about…life is about us being there for each other “En las buenas y en las malas” as my Momma says it.
-I started my new job two weeks ago, and so far…so good. I have a ton of learning to do due yesterday, but I, too, will conquer this new challenge!
-One of my fave gals is turning 33 today, so that's always a great thing to celebrate and be grateful for...
