winx club fancasts part one: brandon.
i've had different people lately asking me who would i use for a brandon fancast, which prompted me to make posts about characters and possible actors who fit physically, ethnically and are not problematic--- things that fans tend to overlook at times.
now, not many people know this, but one of brandon's trope is to be "racially ambiguous" which is true, because rainbow used to color him a couple shades darker than other white characters and then all of a sudden he got the flora treatment too. since we don't know who he was modeled after, we can say with certainty if he's white or not, i tend to lean on him being a person of color. anyways here's some suggestions:
actors of color
tom maden: you probably know him from scream; he's got a caucasian, hispanic and native american ethnic background. i also think he's the one who pulls the brandon vibe better than anyone, an absolute sweetheart with good acting range.
shiloh fernandez: he used to be everybody and their mom's crush back in the days when the red riding hood movie was released. he's got a caucasian, portuguese and ashkenazi jewish ethnic background. he's been on a bunch of indie movies and shows after that gig and is quite a decent actor.
john boyega: this might sound weird since brandon is definitely not black, but there's been rumors about brandon's counterpart in the live action being black, so he's got an honor mention. i don't think i really have to explain why he'd fit the role quite well.
white actors
luca pasqualino: you probably know him from skins. he's british but also a fellow italian from both mother and father side. he's got the typical southern italian boy look that also fits brandon in some extent. he's starred in a few shows by now and he's also a good actor.
alvaro rico: this one is tricky because he's as white as one can be, but personality wise he is brandon. he's spanish and you probably know him from elité. his acting skills are amazing.
