We're putting together a Contingency Con Zine to celebrate ten years of Person of Interest and we'd love your fan work!

What we're looking for: Essays · Meta · Poetry · Fan Art · Episode Reviews · Fic Recs · Fan Creation Recs · Love Letters to POI · Something Else?!

Guidelines:

Text submissions: 100–3,000 words

Art submissions: PNG or JPG, 150dpi minimum

New work only (not previously posted or published)

Up to 2 submissions per person

All ratings and content types welcome; please include content notes for anything that may need them.

Deadline: July 20, 2026

The Con Zine goes live on opening day of Contingency Con, July 31, as a free PDF download for all registered attendees.

The Machine has a new number — and it's yours.

The Contingency Con, a free virtual fan convention celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Person of Interest series finale. July 31–August 2, 2026. Three days. All timezones. Every corner of fandom, together.

Character panels. Episode watchalongs. Fanvid screenings. Fan art showcases. Meta discussions. The State of AI in 2026. A convention zine. And a lot of feelings about a show that saw the future coming.

Programming submissions are open now. If you have an idea for a panel, discussion, or presentation — this is your invitation. All experience levels welcome.

This is a fan-run, community-driven event — free admission, no paywalls, built entirely by people who love this show. We're just getting started, and we want you here for it.

Registration is Now Open

Registration for our 2022 virtual con is open! Join us October 22-23 for a weekend of fandom, friends, and fun! Since CONfab 2022 is virtual, anyone from around the world can join in on the festivities. 

Like our previous virtual cons, we will be meeting via Conline, Zoom, and Discord. Our registration price this year is $20?? to help cover costs for things like pro Zoom accounts and web hosting. Anything leftover will be rolled over into making our 2023 in person con the best one yet. 

We’ve been saying it for a couple of years now, but this time we really mean it! Our next in person con will be in 2023 at the Springhill Suites Chicago-O’Hare. We hope to see you then! 

After you get registered, start thinking of the programming you’d like to see this year! As always, CONfab programming is made by attendees, for attendees. Whether it’s the newest fandom obsession or your oldest favorite trope, we can’t wait to see what you have to talk about this year. We’ll be opening up submissions soon!
