Actually new theory

By the events of season 4, Dustin had recently had an assignment for school where he read Sherlock Holmes, and he got really hyperfixated and made it his personality

So that’s why Dustin is... like that in season 4

Also, him scoffing when Steve didn’t get his reference was him thinking that he should know it because he would have had an assignment for it, but he figures he must have skipped it or something (and maybe he did who knows) but he just didn’t even take into account that, yes he’d been in high school just last year, but he hasn’t been a freshman in five years

You know that post where someone was like “I happened to need to buy a bath plug and a toaster at the same time so I bought a loaf of bread so the cashier didn’t get all weird about it”

I feel like that was Nancy bringing a shotgun and a handsaw up to the checkout at the war zone. She just also buys one of those wooden target boards and is like “Um... I’m gonna modify it with the saw... for target practice... with the gun”

And the cashier is like “Ok this girl’s an idiot” and rings her up anyway
