A lot of my headcanons have to do with scars and disability and things like that, I realized. Like, I headcanon that Astrid has endometriosis even though we’ve never been shown that she has anything like that. It’s just fun for me, because I have endometriosis and I want to relate to her more, if that makes sense.

T: Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending, about anything at all?

Hiccup has a Lichtenberg figure on his right shoulder. He also has ADHD. I will die defending these.

K: something nice about someone(s) in my fandoms

i feel like everyone in the fandoms i frequent is of excellent quality of character! as in my non-interweb life, personality and kindness are paramount to me so, if we’re friends, i consider you fantastic! i have to give particular shout-outs to @cashewdani, @firstaudrina, & @megalong because - even though we don’t always intersect on affinities - i know i can email or message them about anythinggggg and they will gladly humor me and often times shriek right back! i appreciate their awesomeness and i’m forever grateful!

N: three things i’d like to see more in my main fandom(s)

do i really have a main fandom? i don’t think so. i love all my affinities and fandoms i choose to make content for pretty equally. but, generally: a. more feedback. i adore every single piece of feedback i receive [likes, reblogs, kudos, comments, incoherent flaily keyboard smashes!], and everyone who leaves anything is a glorious human! but it seems like there’s a lot of times clicking and closing is preferred. and that leaves me wondering. i’m all about closure! even if your encounter was meh, hit me up; b: there can never be too much hurt/comfort in this world!; c) i wish there was a way to see who came back and accessed your work a second/third/fourth time. i revisit the content i love a lotttttt and i’d give anything to see who - if anyone - feels the same about my repertoire!

O: which character/pairing does [insert random song here] remind me of?

i put my itunes on shuffle and jo dee messina’s i’m alright is the first song it spit out at me ahahaha. for some reason, i have a very clear mental image of buffy and riley meeting up again at some point post-btvs finale! [not that buffy would touch country with a ten-foot pole, probably...]

K: Say something nice about someone in any of your fandoms.

Agh! I can’t choose just one person. My friends, especially those on my discord, are such kind, loving, and caring people. I love them.

N: Name three things you wish you saw more of in your main fandom.

Vigcup, Vigcup, and, uh, Vigcup. 

Just kidding. I would like to see more talk/fics/art about Hiccup’s disability. It’s sometimes brushed to the side or just not talked about a lot. 

Fucking kindness towards each other!!! Jeez, why do people in the fandom have to be so mean? 

Focus on more of the women characters. They’re great! (Yes, even Ruffnut.) People just, don’t seem to care about the women unless it’s Astrid. 

R: A pairing you ship that you don’t think anyone else ships. 

Well, it used to be Vigcup. I thought there were only a handful of people that shipped that. I still think it’s one of the rarer ships out there though.

J: name a fandom you didn’t think about until you saw it all over tumblr

i only tried/watched the haunting... duo because i saw gifsets of both dani and jamie as well as the bb crains on my dash. anything even moderately approaching horror is not typically my fare at all! i never finished ...hill house because nell’s sleep paralysis  hit wayyyyyy too close to my areas of anxiety, but i still think they’re awesome! 

L: something nice about a character you’re neutral about or dislike

i adoredddd alias in my youth - like, sat in front of my tv in real-time to watch every week. all the newbies who were added in the last season, though, i did not understand at all.

that being said, every single one of those actors and actresses did a commendable job of getting me to - at the very least appreciate and, at most, genuinely like - their characters eventually. vaughn’s rabbit-adjacent wifey lady from season three, however, i still - and will always - detest.

Z: ramble about something fan-related

i know you and i have discussed wanda being good with kids / in a child-related profession, so...

wandavision has really solidified my whole teacher headcanon. i know it might be lame/naive to say - but i really do feel like anybody who works with kids is trying to make the world better/change the world they see. and, over the years, wanda’s learned that this - in conjunction with the superheroing - is the best way to make the world better.

plus, if she loses the boys  NO WHY I WILL NOT COPE WELL  then at least she’ll get about thirty new kiddos every year! and she’ll be excellent at helping them work through small or heavy trauma because she’s come out the other side of so much of her own sorrow and pain and devastation.

B, F, and O!

B: a pairing you initially didn’t consider but someone/something changed your mind/made you see the light

winterwitch [wanda/bucky] in the mcu! i sort of enjoyed/saw the potential of wanda/steve after all those scenes in captain america: civil war and i was appropriately gutted by his transition to an elderly octogenarian. i didn’t need my mind changed about wanda and bucky because i was actively searching for a partner other than vision. [possibly unpopular opinion: i’ve never understood the robot/sentient plasticine business; sorryyyyyyyy; it’s better when he’s paul bettany unfiltered, but still]. i digress. anyway, i read a fic, saw a parallel gifset of wanda and bucky’s similarites, and the rest is history!

in terms of a show making me enjoy a pairing the creatives had put together: tyra and landry on friday night lights! at first, i thought she was just going to intentionally break him or something and i could not have that! but then the narrative built them into this lovely - with the exception of that murder plot; JESUS - duo. i’ll always have a soft spot for them!

F: the longest i’ve been in a fandom

i’ve loved little women and no doubt since i was five?

but - in terms of active, creative, still-interested participant - probably marvel? i might not have added my own content to the fandom until 2015, but i’d seen every movie up until that point. and it’s almost six years later, with no burn-out in sight!

O: which character/pairing does [insert random song here] remind me of?

i put my itunes on shuffle again, and this time it spit out: lady gaga’s look what i found which actually fits winterwitch [wanda/bucky] reallyyyy well! in terms of pairings that happened/might have a chance of happening, also: ryan atwood/taylor townsend from the oc. the lyrics highlight ryan’s stoicism, but the beat is ridiculously peppy, like taylor! plus, you know, new beginnings and moving on, and the strength of relationships!

U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites. (I like this question too!)

Everyone reading this is probably already rolling their eyes, like ‘Is this gonna be another love letter to T’Pol?’ 😝 I have layers, ok?! Like Shrek or an onion. (Donkey is my favourite there)

Nynaeve (Wheel of Time 📖 ) — Let us harken back to my first online fandom in the early 2000s. I was genuinely so surprised to discover that most of my friends hated my fave. She’s out there trying so hard to take care of everyone, falling in love with the first handsome emotionally unavailable stranger she meets and masking all her vulnerability with anger. What’s not to like? Maybe I have a thing for overbearing older sibling types…

Dean Winchester (Supernatural 🔪) — a bisexual disaster who has the weight of the world on his shoulders and struggles to believe he’s worthy of love? That’s hot before you even put Jensen Ackles’ face on there.

My mind is blanking here. Oh! Velma (Scooby Doo) — because you absolutely should listen to your bookish know-it-all friend and take her on lots of fun adventures!

Fandom Alphabet - J

J: Name a fandom you didn’t care/think about until you saw it all over the Internet.

Oh, that would be stony.

I watched Avengers once it came out, and after watching it I didn't ship any of them, like, all I could feel was just pure friendship or partnership, no romance. So, imagine my surprise when I found out that stony had become one of the biggest fandoms I had ever seen.

Fandom Alphabet - I

I: Have online discussions caused you to stop liking any fandoms? If so, which ones and why?

Ehhhh...Yep. 

So here is the thing. I am always more introspective than extrovertive. I keep an eye on what’s going on in the fandom but I usually don’t take part in it, I won’t go out and try to chat with people. If they are going to know I exist, it’s normally from my fics. Which means I don’t have many ties to a fandom, I can leave and return whenever I want. There are only a few fandoms that I’ve taken seriously. If I actually get involved in a fandom to be affected by others’ words, it usually ends badly.

APH: There’s an event, a grand event in our fandom at that time. Then it ended terribly. It showed what people could do and say when they were safely hiding behind their web identity. It just made you feel nauseous to know that these were the ones you interacted daily. I was so disappointed with the fandom that I just left and never took a look at it again until last year.

Narusasu: The ones I interacted in the fandom were a bunch of control freaks who liked to make everyone in the fandom follow their rules. I distanced myself from them after they told me I shouldn’t follow one sasunaru artist. Then the ending happened. We all know the ending is BS, I just didn’t expect they would throw such a tantrum. Like, really, are you seriously expecting Masashi Kishimoto would make a narusasu official? It just felt stupid to be with them anymore so I left.
