This fandom is so bad when it comes to Robby like so bad. It’s everywhere. Like he’s the main character, the protagonist and people are complaining he has too much screen time. The protagonist!!!! Like????? They’re saying they shouldn’t give so much screen time to a white man. White???? He’s Jewish! And they hold him to higher standards than the other characters, such as Frank Langdon, who is a white man (as far as I know). I’m sure other people will submit this character so I’ll stop here.
The fandom is rabid about him being a monster for being actively suicidal and his mental health deteriorating and impacting his coworkers.

I have seen people describe him as a hideous devil, mock his nose, say they're glad his mom abandoned him, that they hope he kills himself, ignore and erase his Jewish identity (including multiple AUs where he is a priest), as well as just generally holding his character to a significantly higher standard and a degree of scrutiny than they would if he weren't Jewish. (Look at fandom treatment of Abbot who is also a white male attending and tell me antisemitism isn't playing a role in why Robby gets as much hate as he does). I have seen people call the scene where Robby and Perlah (a Muslim nurse) bond with a Tree of Life shooting survivor "propaganda." Also, on the shipping side of the fandom Robby is part of many popular ships. And while I don't have a problem with people liking what ships they like, it is a fascinating dichotomy to see him be simultaneously demonized and sexualized. (Diversity win! This belle juive is a man).
The main character is used as a scapegoat for every unpopular plot decision in the series, primarily as it relates to characters of color. There is an overwhelming, shocking sentiment of people who despise Robby for his “misogyny,” a claim I dispute, and people describing how they wish other characters would kill him, how his mom was right to leave him, etc. The presence of his Jewish identity has led people to describe the show itself, which briefly mentions Israeli bandages in a mass shooting scene, as “propaganda” for Zionism— and yet, people still call him “the evil white man” when appealing to the mistreatment they attest their favorite characters in the show have experienced.
i doubt i'm the first to submit him. i haven't seen a fandom demonize a male character like this since... maybe ever? like half the fandom thinks he's evil and irredeemable for being a jewish man with ptsd. i've seen posts calling him the devil and saying the character needs to die/should kill himself. most of the fandom considers him to be a white man despite having very jewish features and a recognizably jewish last name. unfortunately the antisemitism has also spread to people saying horrible things about the actor as well.
He’s an amazing character and is exceedingly well written and complex. The character and the actor for that matter deserve none of the hate they’re getting.

He's such a fabulous Jewish character, he says the Shema as comfort during a breakdown, he wears his Magen David on a long chain that he hides under his shirt, he gets interrogated by Yana Kovalenko about whether he goes to synagogue, he says may his memory be a blessing after Louis' funeral, he's just such an authentic portrayal of a Jewish man and I'm tired of goyishe fans not being able to handle such a compelling, dynamic, and nuanced character because of their biases.

From day one, the fandom has been awful about Penny. They hate that she's canonically in a relationship with Dr. Teeth, and they throw every stereotype about Jewish women at her to try to invalidate that. They call her ugly and gross and say there's no way Dr. Teeth would be attracted to her, and they portray her as shrill and nagging and angry for no reason. The whole premise of the show is that, years ago, Dr. Teeth and his band broke their contract with her record label and ran off with their $420,000 advance instead of delivering an album. She has every right to be angry about that!! She should've been even angrier than she was!! But no, the fandom acted like she was just angry for the sake of being angry. And when they reconcile, Dr. Teeth is shown to absolutely adore her, but people acted like she was manipulating him or trying to sabotage him. Basically the fandom can't handle that their blorbo is in love with a fat loud self-made Jewish woman, and they deserve every Yiddish curse in her vocabulary.

i'll preface by saying that house md does have several well written jewish characters and the fandom is arguably better than most wrt antisemitism
that being said. i don't think it's a coincidence that the most visibly jewish character is judged more harshly by both other characters and the fandom for flaws that other characters also exhibit (cheating on his wife, being a hypocrite in a show full of hypocrites)
lots of jokes made at the expense of his appearance (again, both on the show and in the fandom)
i've seen people say he "doesn't have a personality" which is baffling to me because he's funny! he's snarky! he's doing his best! he's sad wet and pathetic! he's so blorbo-shaped for those with eyes to see
i will die on the hill that if he was more "conventionally attractive" he would be one of the most shipped characters on the show because he has chemistry with everyone
