B: Hmm. Possibly Thramsay? I had zero interest till I read some of the excellent fic out there (sorry I’m not sorry). Also Theon/Robb fits this (although a bit more stable!)
K: I did two!
ASOIAF: Oh geeze. There’s some really awesome people in this fandom, but so much time seems to be spent attacking other people who their ships or the characters they like, and it’s just awful. And boring, really. I don’t know if this is just tumblr or what, all the people I know in real life who are into it are excellent (of course, I don’t go around proclaiming that I write fic or anything). Mostly I just wonder how a series with such awesome dark characters and relationships attracts people that view everything in black and white.
Mad Men: I don’t participate in the greater fandom (and there’s not one on a large scale). There’s a lot of stupidity in the LJ comms, mostly people complaining loudly when the show doesn’t talk down to them. Tumblr seems pretty cool, and provides pretty graphics. There’s character hate, but it’s not as excessive as it is in some fandoms, and I’ve never gotten shit for saying a sociopathic rapist is my second favorite character, so there’s that.
Q: You know, I don’t think I’ve abandoned any ships. I don’t have a ton to start with, and I pretty much stick with them. I have to say, I kind of shipped Sandor and Sansa a long time ago, and my God did that not last. Also: Theon/Jeyne, before I realized that no, I just wanted that platonic (I read a romantic fic, and it just doesn't work).
