they used to be soooooo toxic omg.

it was always the laurance stans acting like they were the fandom police and some kind of authority on what others could do or say in the fandom. they instigated SO MUCH DRAMA back in the day that it almost ruined the character for me.

in particular, it was the vylad x laurance shippers who were the most toxic, authoritarian and repressive (oop i'm giving a bit too much info away 🤭 if i speak...)

but this current generation of laurance stans is super chill, nice AND talented! #those hags could never ❤️

I am the same age as the majority of the fandom but, damn, do I feel too old for it sometimes.

I can't get into cocomau, all of her new stuff is just not my personal favorite, and any discourse around characters is just bland now because well... I genuinely think we have started digging too deep into characters that weren't thought about originally in concepts that didn't even exist on Aphmau's radar when making it.

Do I love the Au's, rewrites, and fics that add depth? Of course but any speculation about the main content is just odd to me now because well, I am no longer in elementary and middle school. I don't have my tinted glasses on and I see it for what it is. A goofy Minecraft role play I liked.

I am not telling people to stop. It certainly is interesting to see what ideas people create, but it's just hard for me to take things seriously. That's a block knight based off an anime trope. It's fun. Have fun.

I was never really all that involved with the aphmau fandom back when all the series were still going on. I’m still don’t really post anything about it because I rarely post anything on any social media I just kinda lurk now. So all my opinions and head canons as a kid were either just my own or from comment sections in videos. I remember specifically starting to watch diaries around the time that weird hot spring episode in season two came out. I went and watched the whole thing I and child me became obsessed. I then started watching my street and mini games and stuff. Even now as I’m an adult i still go back to those old videos every few months. It makes me a little sad that there will most likely be nothing like those again. I really enjoyed the mini games around the time when my street season two came out as that’s around the time where the actors seemed way more comfortable with role play and it didn’t see to heavily scripted. I will never be able to watch that “baby Aaron” mini game without cringing into another dimension. Apart of me really misses those day when I could just sit around watching Minecraft videos all day. But all the amazing people in this fandom today definitely help bring back some the magic and enjoyment it used to bring me back in the day. All of you are amazing and I hope you keep doing the amazing stuff you’re doing.
