I'll never stop being curious exactly how ot3 didn't realize harry had plans to go solo. Because I remember right when 1d hiatus was announced it came up in conversation with my friends, none of whom incl me tbh are very involved in fandom, one of them said we'd have an album by harry in 2017 latest and we all agreed. It just seemed so obvious to us and I wonder what conversations went on that it took the other 3 awhile to catch on. It looks like a huge betrayal from my perspective.
Have you ever been caught totally off guard by a breakup or a friendship ending? I know I’ve been caught off guard in the moment, although usually in retrospect I can see it. Also, I know I once caught a friend off guard when I ended our friendship, although to me it was clear it was coming.
I think sometimes you’re too close--which is very possibly/probably why so much of the fandom was convinced he’d never go solo before the others, etc. I don’t know if you saw those posts, but they existed.
Hell, I thought around Feb/March that the rumors he was releasing music soon were true, especially when Grimmy and Ed got involved. I was annoyed that Harry was letting everyone else talk about him going solo instead of him talking about going solo. I was told I was wrong and that it was Tumblr making up shit and that he deserved a damn break and so on and so forth.
