Some of us just grew up in the 90's or Early 2000's and got sick of hearing badly done corporate rap in every commercial, game, TV show, and movie. Some of us later got lucky and finally heard the good stuff.
You know how corporations tend to ruin memes by putting them everywhere? They can ruin genres of music in the same way.
