Fandom New Year Resolutions!
I was tagged by the lovely @stripesysheaven thank you so much friend, this was so fun!
Rules: Post six (or more) fandom related New Year's resolutions for 2026 and tag at least six friends
1) I want to be more reactive to tags and tag games! A few other mutuals tagged me in different posts over the past few months, usually for tag games about favorite characters or favorite movies, and I’m always so happy about it but I always forget to do them. A classic case of "I love this so much and I’m so happy that I was tagged, but I don’t have the time to do it right now and I want to take the time to answer the questions properly but then I forget". So new year resolution game is the perfect way for me to get started on that.
2) I want to keep writing fics and be more regular with updates! As some of you know, I was writing A LOT a few years back, to the point where I kind of reached a tiny burn out and it wasn’t as fun for a while (and also irl stuff added to the mix). But with Thunderbolts, I’ve found that love and inspiration once again, and it’s so much fun and joy, and I really want to keep going! The reactions and interactions have been great so far! But I tend to be a slow writer so I want to try to update the story more regularly.
3) I want to comment more on fics! I honestly think that I’m already pretty good at commentating and trying to encourage and uplift other fic writers, but I can always do more and be better 😤💪 Honestly, consistency how many fics I read these days, I could definitely comment a whole lot more. Getting into fic writing again reminded of how incredibly important comments are.
4) I want to watch more movies and read more books! I guess this one is not specifically related to fandoms and tumblr, but I think it still applies. I’m the type of person who who easily fixates on the things that I like and who rewatch the same things over and over again. I want to watch and discover new things this year.
5) I maybe want to get back into drawing? This one is kind of a long shot honestly. But as a child and as a teenager, I used to draw a lot. I would copy comics and mangas that I like to learn, create a lot of original characters, draw for different fandoms … and I just kind of stopped as a young adult. I still do sometimes and I shared a few things in the past, but I really miss drawing more. I think that being online and becoming friends with a lot of extremely talented artists kind of discouraged me for a while, which is stupid as hell! So more drawing this year maybe.
6) Keep interacting with people and keep making new friends and mutuals! This one is kind of broad, I guess. But during the later half of 2025, I reconnected with a lot of past online friends that I hadn’t talked to in years, and made a lot new fandom friends as well, and this was lovely. A few years back, during COVID I was almost always online, and I had some great times with dear friends, but I was also very unhappy in my personal life. This is no longer the case, I’ve changed a lot over the last five years, and I’m way healthier and happier now then I was then. I think for a bit, I was scared of re joining online fandoms and communities, because I feared that it would mess up the good balance that I’ve reached in my life. But I no longer fear that. I think that there are ways to be active in fandom communities while living a balanced, healthy happy life :)
Sorry for oversharing and yapping as always. (This will be my secret seventh resolution, stop always talking so much!!!!)
I tag: @tspofsuga @mettywiththenotes @lumilasi @officialuablog @optimistic-atlas @hawkdisaster @grecianghost @smolthealmighty
I try to limit myself to six, but ended up doing eight instead … and to any other mutuals reading this, consider yourself tagged as well because I love you, so don’t be shy!
