I hate the phrase "There's no platonic explanation for this."
Like?? I have a few friends, if we are in the same room, we may indeed appear to be husband and wife owners of the most intense BDSM Brothel on either coast and objectively appear to be both the horniest things in the room and ESPECIALLY horny for literally anything the other says.... And have zero desire whatsoever to fuck eachother. As a matter of fact one of us is probably ACE. (I have a really high Ace Bestie count for some reason???)
So yes, there is a platonic explanation. You're just not wrapping your head around friendships not exactly fitting into the caricature of friendship that is shown in media.
