I’ve been waffling on posting this, but help me out Blooshlrs that can?
Pretty please.
We each are into our own things, right? Well...I love to read whump fics and I’m having trouble finding any new whump. Specifically, any whumping of Noel’s characters. Mental or physical whump (or, be still my whumper heart and gimme fics with both!;) ) Does anyone have any recs?
I’ve pretty much gone through things that were tagged on Ao3 (and did a few keyword searches...) and pretty much all of Blue Boosh and The Boosh Slash Haven. But I may have missed things, so don’t hesitate to rec a fic that is on there. I’ve got no squicks/triggers...though I really prefer my hurt to have comfort, and no character death (permanent character death anyway), I’m not exactly picky.
In this same vein, I’ve been working on a quite whumpy post series 3 Mighty Boosh fic, and could really use a beta reader/person to bounce my writing woes off of. Please be warned, though, that this does contain non-con (or will when I get that far) as part of the plot.
I’m a bit of a shit beta, my learning disability (dysgraphia for the win!) gets in the way of great copy editing/grammar stuff - my brain works differently enough that I am terrible at seeing wrongness in terms of grammar and my spelling is atrocious at the best of times, I’m never going to catch all the things, but I can read for:
a) content and continuity *within the story* (’cause we all know within the show itself continuity is kinda...fluid)
b) whatever series continuity you may what to follow as I can probably recite the radio show and the tv show episodes by now (and for the others like Barley or Sweet, I’m more than willing to find sections for a rewatch or rewatch the whole thing, as tough as that is - it’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make!)
c) general story flow
and
d) pretty much anything *not* spelling and grammar related. including the abuse of parenthetical comments, which only has gotten worse as I’ve grown older and more
I am also American so I can’t really Brit-Pick things, but I love research (it’s my day job in a nutshell, after all) so I don’t mind helping other writers look for answers to what things should be called.
