Hanging in the Balance by Shealynn88 (Mature)
Special Rec: 1/30 Fandom: Constantine Pairing: Angela Dodson/John Constantine Title: Hanging in the Balance Author: Shealynn88 Link: http://archiveofourown.org/works/518115 Rating/Warning(s): Mature Word Count/WIP?: 5877 Recced on LiveJournal By: syd15 Why This Must Be Read: I just think this writer does a magnificent job with the characters and how they present themselves and communicate between each other. The fic is plotty (and absulutely something that I could have seen a second movie going for) but it's also very character driven, which is always a draw for me. 30 Days Of Constantine Day 24 - What Folklore Do You Want To Be Explored Next? Uhh, this one's hard. I'm never entirely sure what counts as folklore and what doesn't... I'd really like to see shapeshifters explored in Constantine, because I've got a fondness for shapeshifters of all sorts -- whether they're human-to-animal shifters (like werewolves), animal-to-human shifters (like selkies), or creatures who can take multiple forms (like Hellblazer's Julian). Actually, I'd really like to see Julian, but that's a) not really relevant to this question, and b) unlikely to happen in the near future on NBC. Shapeshifters have a built-in mechanism for inspiring paranoia, because you can't be sure if you're dealing with this person in their true form or just one they've assumed. Was this a wild animal attack or a premeditated murder? Is that just an ordinary bird or a spy? Am I actually hooking up with a human being or a demon who's going to kill me? WHO KNOWS.
