hi, it’s me again, and i have nothing else but bubbling excitement. so yes, here’s to more theories again, and some recap of the previous theories
if you wanted to read my previous theories, they’re all here:
overall / overcome 1 & 2 / love paint / where you at 1 , 2 & 3
first off, i think it’s quite likely that they’re following the queen’s arc. the most damning giveaway is the crown on the little girl’s head as she stares into the the frosty glass/mirror. few things to note her: (1) snow and frost was the very first theme of q. is, including the end where the queen was found to be in what seemed like a ‘frozen’ state; (2) the round brooch like pattern made this look like the pocketwatch the boys had, a symbol of their knightship from q. is. as well; and (3) the whole mirror and glass parallel has been explored so thoroughly. in overcome, the queen was seen blocked behind a glass wall as she watched ren, and in where you at, ren was brought towards a mirror in the middle of no where.
i’ve explored the theory previously that glass mirrors are used as a portal or medium to move in between dimensions, and i think this is one of them as well. to add on to that, i think canvas, too, is another medium, which is why love paint and their concert footage also showed that.
next up, i’d also like to point out the cross dimensions.
reusing this table over here, i still think this works - and who you follows after where you at.
the reason why i never called the queen series a trilogy is because where you at left so many questions, and there never seemed to be a concluding statement, only that the ‘music video is a continuation of the queen storyline’.
the reason why i don’t believe it falls after love paint is also because minhyun had too much of a pivotal role in overcome, where it’s evident that he and the queen is close, perhaps even closer than other knights. besides the amount of screentime he had falling in the salt-snow (lol), minhyun had several personal scenes with the queen.
he was also the standing the closest to her in the knighting process, in which aron was the last to join the ranks.
now after where you at, the four boys are separated. it’s unknown how they are separated, but my guess is that the difference in time that they reached the staircase in overcome has brought them to different dimensions altogether, in time and space. minhyun, presumably the first to left, is now in an unknown location. the four boys who were roaming on their own, all were brought together in the different rooms. i’ve also spoken about the duo-dimensions of where you at here so i won’t repeat haha.
other than minhyun, ren also seemed to harbor much knowledge in the storyline (besides being the one with the most acting experience ahem). first, the scene where the queen was looking at him (overcome), to him being brought by the lady in red (where you at) and him retrieving the key in the pool to unlock the chest (love paint), will ren shed more light in this era too?
last but not least, in who you, it feels like they are revisiting the queen, or perhaps memories of the queen when she was a child. once again, they’re jumping in time and space, and whether the four boys will meet is to be seen.
i’m totally excited about the comeback and would love to explore more theories, so hmu if you wanna chat!! :D
so here are some random nuest theories because everywhere is flooding with them! :D i’ve shared a bit about my old thoughts on overcome (& here) and love paint a long while back, but seeing ren’s latest teaser video got me so bad.
before i start, it’s important to note that during overcome era, while they came up with the queen and knights theory, there was never a fixed ‘lore’ per say of which queen they took inspirations from. it is very likely that they took inspirations from several pop culture references with the queen idea, this includes The Queen’s Knight’ manga in which their styling is based on, but an ‘Alice in Wonderland’ theme for the actual Overcome MV for example. (see below, the Cheshire inspiration for Q is. teaser)
so here, i think ren’s mv draws a parallel with overcome (and Alice) once again. in overcome, the queen is seen decked in white, looking at ren from behind a glass wall while ren could not see him. it’s possible that it’s still in line with how the queen is taken into another dimension, and the scene was a representation of her viewing ‘through the looking glass’.
the phrase ‘through the looking glass’ referred to the metaphorical expression that things are in a strange parallel world. it could also mean that it’s a mirrored reflection of the real world, where a clock running forward could be viewed as running backwards in anti-clockwise.
either way, that’s the benchmark for when they were first broken apart into two different worlds.
( i also think the mv story is done in a mix of ‘flashback’, especially when jr was seen standing in a room of broken windows before we got brought to the past at the moment the queen was taken away after knighting Aron. i’ve mentioned before, that according to the positions of the knights, the process seemed to indicate minhyun as the first in ranking, followed by Baekho, JR and Ren. so it’s probably worthwhile to investigate the timeline by switching up the scenes )
next, we see ren taken to another world. like jr’s new video, ren has his own room, once again, following the theme of the glass. this time, ren stares ahead as if in confusion, but also note that he’s donning a similar outfit from love paint era, suggesting the connection between Where You At and Love Paint. He wakes up in the room, and then he gets blindfolded with red laced blindfolds, and then he’s transported to this new, empty place.
the red figure in question, possibly the same ‘creature’ (considering the mask that hid her face) that blindfolded him, is now seen dancing along in front of a glass mirror. but what if, that glass mirror is actually the gateway to another dimension, maybe the original dimension in which ren was taken from? what if the red dancer was actually guarding the portal?
which leads me to the theory of Alice, with the white queen and red queen. i do not think the figure in red is the queen, but more of the red queen’s underlings. as those who read the book would know, the red queen is viewed as the antagonist to the white queen, and it’s possible she had a hand in the white queen’s disappearance in overcome. following that extension, it is possible why ren is actually seen running away, not towards her.
even as the car was cruising along the road, it wasn’t shown if he’s driving it, because it is possible that he was ‘kidnapped’ into this dimension. if i’m not wrong, he’s also coming out from the passenger’s seat, not driver’s seat.
( see below for juxtaposition )
while all the same, another thing to note is that the compass/pocketwatch** is not to be seen. instead we were shown the red bracelet, a jarring color, and one that jr too has on his wrist. as some twitters have mentioned the possibility of those who have the red string may find their other halves, it might be key to searching for each other and the queen.
why is ren kidnapped, if he was? well, i think ren’s role is pretty distinctive (of course, everyone had a role). to me, he was the one that’s actively searched for by the queen, even if he couldn’t hear nor see her. in love paint, you can see ren seated by the side of the pool, and eventually entering a body of water where a key was dropped. this suggests that ren held the key to open the chest of their jeweled box which contained five of precious stones.
if i remember correctly, these precious stones are a symbol of each member, and ren’s role then, meant that he might have a way or is holding onto the key that allowed them to move trough dimensions or gateways.
** it’s not known if it’s a compass, or a watch, or both since it makes sense in terms of time line jumps + searching for directions. furthermore, nu’est original logo since debut is actually the compass.
in that retrospect, i want to briefly mention about time parallel and dimensions, and also why I think JR can cross time and that’s his role. After all, he’s the only person featured in Love Paint in both day scenes aka the one with the flower wall, and night scenes aka the one in the car. This comes at a reach, but he is featured in Daybreak, and now he’s found in the Church and in the middle of the night.
It sounds a little complicated, so i drew up a ‘graphic’ representation haha so JR can move within one vertical of time, but Ren can open portals.
And actually, I personally think that Where You At, Overcome and Love Paint are not in chronological order. I’m inclining towards Overcome > Where You At > Love Paint at the moment, since the finale of Love Paint showed that after Ren ‘opened’ the box with the key, all five of them were finally gathered in one scene.
So yes this is my mess of a theory, feel free to discuss with me or let me know. I have a couple more but I shall stop for now I don’t even know what I’m doing
random nuest theories part iii: dreams and reality
part i / part ii
so nu’est mv has finally dropped and besides it’s superb aesthetics, cinematography, sexy choreography and a sound that’ right up my alley, here’s some more random nu’est theories.
previously i mentioned that where you at (wya) is actually in between overcome and love paint (lp), and that the boys might be escaping their dreamscape in wya into lp’s world, and i feel like the mv does support this theory in some sense.
double figures and parallel timeline
in wya, there are two alternating timeline. (1) the part where they were wearing more modernized and casual outfits, the one that’s mostly shown in this mv and represents the dream world, and (2) the part where they were wearing silk shirts like in lp aka reality. the following might be easier if you’ve played games revolving alternative timelines, but i’d try my best to explain what i mean.
if you look at the mv, (1) seems to not have any acknowledgement of (2); on the other hand, (2) seems to be able to see what is going on in (1)’s world. thus, this makes me think that (1) is likely the dream world and the one that happened earlier in terms of timeline compared to (2). the most obvious one would be aron’s, as aron2 mimics the process of aron1 in finding the key in hopes of leaving the room.
here you see aron1 taking the key from the dresser, followed by aron2 searching the said dresser. as aron1 heads immediately for the door, aron follows suit by turning his direction towards the door, as if wondering what aron1 was doing.
now here’s where things get a little tricky. are (1) and (2) the same person? if the anewer is yes, they are, then it’s likely that (1) is the dream projection by (2) as they fall into deep slumber. in short, whatever happened by (1) is a trial and error process of the soul as (2) falls asleep, taking place in this alternative timeline of the same dimension.
through this soul projection, all of them managed to leave their room. however, ren and dongho seemed to be transported into another dimension. if the isle of death does exist, it is likely that they’re brought over. for ren, it seems that there was more of a mastermind, aka the red queen, and you can see that he was indeed brought along after being blindfolded. since the female dancer disappeared by the mirror, i do think that the glass mirror is a portal to yet another place, but ren either could not go through it in his aestral form, or he did not fall into temptation of the red queen and ran in the opposite direction, away from the mirror portals.
following what i mentioned in random theory one, ren does seem to cross dimensions and jr in time, but we don’t actually see much of aron and baekho’s storylines in both overcome and lp. however, among all, it seems like aron’s gift is possible premonition: in overcome he’s one of the first to find the staircase. in wya he finds the key, and in lp, he’s the sole artiste painting on the canvases. how can he paint the art of his members if he has no way of seeing them till the end of lp?
also, it would make sense to be a soul projection if they all see the butterflies only in that state, meaning that the butterfly is a fragment of their dreamscape and does not exist in reality.
alternatively, what if (1) and (2) are different people because they come from alternative timelines? this means that in this universe, there are a multitude of timelines that’s constantly ongoing that lead individual lives, but are still you all the same.this means there are more than one worlds, and they exist in each of them. this is a possible theory because at the end, as aron2 search for the key at the dresser, it’s no longer there. for a physical object to go missing in aron2′s timeline, means it has already been taken away by aron1 in the midst of this alternate timeline clashing in the same dimension.
this also means that even if ren1 and dongho1 seems to be trapped in the isle of death, ren2 and dongho2 will be able to avoid that fate because they already see what happened to them. so in their timeline, they will have another beginning, another opportunity waiting for them.
butterflies & red strings - a brand new arc?
next, the butterflies and red ribbons are two things that haven’t been really discussed in lp or overcome before. in fact, they’re new additions. gone is the compass/pocket watch which only made a brief appearance in the car ride with ren being blindfolded, but we see new elements.
firstly, butterflies - butterflies are commonly used as a symbol describing the soul of the body, as with themes such as rebirth and premonition. they’re commonly used in films and pop cultures for many variations of symbolism to do with life, death and omens. here, it seems to be guiding them somewhere, but it disappears on 2nd glance, so the boys ended up chasing tales but never quite figuring out where they were going.
next, the red ribbons. instead of the pocket watch, we see red strings. ‘red strings of fate’ is an idea where you meet your soul mate - basically everyone in this world has an invisible string tied to your other half, which will tangle but eventually unravel to meet one another. yet, throughout wya you see four different rooms, and they never once came together. the utilization of the red strings is comparatively little and drew less attention than the butterflies, which made me think that there’s only more to come.
in fact, it’s because of the red strings that i feel wya is not exactly part of the queen’s trilogy, but an arc within it. this means that there could be more story to where you at, and the queen’s story is not yet finished, and not likely till 2019.
timeline graph of where i think wya stands right now in the queen’s series.
from the lyrics too, one can see that there is fear, longing and searching for the queen in wya, but in love paint, it is more of a story where they want to protect the queen, and how the queen changed their lives.
in short, wya is not the ending in my opinion, but the beginning of something new to be explored. thoughts, people?
random nuest theories part ii: love paint/overcome choreo
part i over here
so as im trying to process aron’s teaser, i thought it would be interesting to look at the choreography of love paint and overcome before wondering about the possibilities of where you at’s choreo. the first similarity - and difference that struck me is the beginning and then ending poses of both videos.
from here you can see that in overcome, what we see is more of a captive state at the beginning. Minhyun is standing in the circle as 4 people surrounds him, while the other four members are kneeling on the floor, as if in defeat. at the end of overcome however, you see that nuest have gathered together, standing over the back up dancers.
depending on how you arrange the timeline, the stories seem to go a little different. (the following is also inspired by a point from nuest_view (?), and i do agree that chronological order is important in deciding how you view this trilogy as each will come to a different outcome)
if you go by overcome >>> love paint, then we see a hopeful end as nu’est retain the power over others as the knights in question. if you go the opposite way however, with love paint >>> overcome, this means they’ve lost and suffered a defeat, possibly ending in a loop.
next, why i think ‘where you at’ is actually falling in the order like this: overcome >>> where you at >>> love paint.
if we go by overcome to love paint, then clearly, you can see how the two links together somewhat as the end of overcome’s choreo have the five of them in the inner ring, and the backup dancers in the foreground. in the beginning of love paint, the boys were puppeting the dancers too, showing that nu’est is reigning.
here’s the plot twist, someone pointed out that at one point in time recently, they changed up overcome’s ending choreography (video). in this sense, it could actually be made into the beginning of where you at’s choreography.
this is also very possible because in overcome, minhyun was the one who managed to find the queen on her throne, while the others seemed lost. in other words, where you at could document how the other boys come together after resisting the temptation of the red queen, eventually leading to love paint.
as i’ve mentioned before in part i where ren is donning a similar silk shirt reminiscence of love paint, the order of where you at’s mv might actually be the boys escaping their dreamscape and then waking up in love paint’s world, and not them being in where you at’s rooms from love paint’s world.
time theories are impressive with this trilogy that i can’t stop playing with them
Dun dun dun! It’s time for Maddy’s Love Paint Theories! Well, as you might have seen me around writing super long posts in the past, this one is of no different. Here’s somethings I’ve been thiking about since the first art films and having seen some worthy notes on my twitter T-list.
With the release of Love Paint: epilogue teaser, this comeback has sort of been confirmed to be an extension/part II to their release earlier in the year, Q is. and Overcome. The boys are continuing with their manhwa-dol (or literally translated from Korean, Idols who tear out of the manhwa pages) concept, and I decide to take out some points of interest after rewatching Overcome and the Canvas teasers again.
This is long, you have been warned, but if you get to the end, thank you! Under read more or I’m afraid those on mobile might have my head.
Before I start, here are some key pointers that might or might not be a point in the upcoming MV. First of all, the pocketwatch has been established as part of the knighting process. In Overcome, Aron has been seen as the last member to be knighted right on the day the Queen has been taken away by mysterious forces. In the same scene, we find out the order of the knighting rank (if any), as Minhyun, Baekho, JR, Ren and Aron. Throughout the MV, the pocketwatch serves as a link between the Queen and her knights, and possibly viewed as a symbol of trust. On the other hand, it could also be a protective talisman, as the Queen is taken after giving one pocketwatch to Aron, presumably the last one as well.
In this case, it makes perfect sense as the the lead or the first knight, Minhyun, to have been the one holding onto the pocket watch as he roamed the halls in the epilogue teaser. In fact, in Overcome, Minhyun plays a pivotal role from beginning to the end - he embarks on a long journey through the snow (artificial salt mind you, that got him breaking out into hives so if that's not dedication I don't know what is- opps breaking the 4th wall sorry about that), is seen in several shots with the Queen as what may seem prior to Aron's knighting process, and the only one given a full facial shot when the Queen was taken.
Scenes where Minhyun shook my bias list. He needs to be an actor. Someone give him them opportunities ; n ;
All these shots almost suggest that there’s some form of closeness between Minhyun and the Queen, which definitely made sense if he’s her first knight. In fact, it almost feels like Minhyun and the Queen knew something was going to happen sooner or later, but the surprise on the bottom right shot suggests that Minhyun never knew it was going to happen so quickly. In the bottom left, Minhyun was holding onto the Queen’s wrist, and this is both an act of intimacy, but also a sense of formality (he is her knight, so a certain distance is expected to be maintained). Also note Minhyun’s expression in the top right shot - there was almost longing and loneliness as he gaze at the Queen, and all these poses suggest that the first 3 shots were done in the private setting between the two.
It continues to add up that Minhyun has went on the long journey through the snow because it is possible that guilt of him not being able to protect his queen had spurred him on the journey alone. Also note that in the song Minhyun is the one singing the chorus and the spell in the song, about taking pain and sadness away from the queen.
Now here we have to talk briefly about the setting of both songs. Overcome obviously has a medieval, almost steampunk-ish era in a fantasy wonderland theme. Canvas however has a much more modern setting close to our era. While the color schemes are wholly different, which a generally bluish, cool undertone in Overcome, we see a vibrant color in Canvas; in fact, with each revealed art film, the colors get brighter. This could be a sign that they are only getting closer and closer to the final goal, finding the missing queen (mentioned in the intro). Seeing how this is called ‘epilogue’, one can infer that this is the closing chapter of the knights-queen sequence. The lines in the intro seems to suggest either a rebirth (cool way to input reincarnations and older references) or a transcendence into our work, as seen from the flight of stairs near the end of Overcome.
Next up, I want to briefly direct the view to Ren. In Overcome, after the Queen’s disappearing, Minhyun had seen the Queen twice: once when he fainted onto the snow, assumingly seeing an illusion of the queen, and second, the queen seated on the ice throne. Meanwhile, JR, the only one in the rundown room, appears to be the one to open the door and sees a frozen Queen within. Yet in Canvas, it was revealed that the Queen is still mission, suggesting that both of them are disillusion or stuck in the past (considering how JR never left the room).
Ren is probably the most-aesthetic driven male idol in kpop history. He’s also the one giving lots of fashion ideas for the boys’ comebacks so please love him.
Ren, on the other hand, is the one who was visited by the Queen, blocked away by an invisible wall as he appears deep in thought. The Queen too, was moving, yet unable to get his attention. This is a whole different compared to the rest, who were on an endless search (Aron running, Baekho walking through a maze). Personally, I think Ren is more of a magic weilder than a swords and shield type of knight, which could make sense seeing how he could be more magically intunned with unseen wavelengths, suggesting the reason for the Queen’s decision to visit him instead of Minhyun, when Ren is the 4th in the rank. At the same time, it could be that because of the ranking in the knightship, Ren is not magically powerful enough to see the queen just yet, leaving her in a sense of powerless state as she watched over him.
Other things that make it possible that he’s more of a magician than a knight-knight - he sits by a fire in a total ice-age, is in the waters in the teaser and as he sits by the pool, petals are falling on him, and then lots of sunlight as he rose from the bed; fire, water, wood and light are some of the common magical elements. Eventually, we are shown a scene where both Minhyun and Ren sits together, suggesting that they are (1) they crossed path in the new era and perhaps (2) the first knight and the magician, both seek by the Queen at one point in Overcome. We also mentioned in the NU’EST chat about Ren’s hair - firstly having relatively long hair in Overcome, to pink mid-length in the pool and a bob at the final scene. Hair as a spiritual power is not a wholly new concept, and further attest to the fact that Ren is a magician/wizard.
The running since 2k13 jokes aside, please give Aron more screentime because boy deserves it as much as everyone else.
When we talk about character analysis, we cannot forget the others. Next up, Aron. The last to be knighted, the one who saw tragedy before his very eyes. In Overcome, Aron is seen running in a place with no end. Despite having nothing around him, he becomes the first to find the stairs (before the cut scene with Minhyun walking up, assuming he found it next). Following that course of deduction, Aron could possibly be the one blessed with a power of foresight or intuition (or just lucky, but humor me). In Canvas, he transforms into a painter, where in the teaser he’s painting what could be the queen. The only one in the art studio, we also found other portraits of the members scattered on the floor.
Lets assume he’s the first to find the stairs. If so, he’s the first to be taken into our world, and continues to be separated from the rest. Yet, if that is true, he is still able to create portraits of the members in our current world of Canvas (and interesting, in a manhwa style as seen on the floor). The ‘queen’ in the teaser, while a good reference to FACE, also shows no features and dark, black hair. Perhaps in this new era, the face of the Queen has changed.
There are some who also mentions that Aron could be the one who pulled the other members into this world, which is very possible as well - if he’s the first to step through the portal, he could help by bringing the others here. Also, there is a possibility that he’s painting to remember her Queen and fellow knights, but yet to succeed in meeting them, resulting in his lone figure in the studio (whereas Minhyun and Ren has met by the pool, and Baekho and JR were seen at the same gas station).
The humble leader who needs more lines to spit flames with his rap. Also very good looking and visually approved by aesthetics king Ren.
In the Overcome, JR shows his backview more so than the front, that it seems like a pivotal representation of his emotions - he refuses to go out and face the world or the reality of his missing Queen, instead staying in the abandoned room where it all took place. He is seen as someone who would rather be trapped in the past, then go forth in the world. That however, changed in Canvas. In the individual teaser and epilogue teaser, JR’s full frontal (handsome) view was shown more than once, first in the garden with the plances, and the other with in the car.
This shows a change from a passive to aggressive state in pursuit of the Queen, as he is also the only member thus far to be featured in both the night (car/gas station) and day (flower room) sequence. In terms of the time concept NU’EST is said going with, he becomes one that is not bounded to either light or dark.
As for him ‘finding’ the queen in the enclosed room, I think it’s more of an illusion, as she is seen with blurred out, glowy edgys then a concrete line as you would with a 3D person. Also, the words printed on Love Paint’s first few seconds said ‘but still missing’, suggesting that the queen is missing instead of being trapped, as seen by both Minhyun and JR in Overcome. (Well it could be because they weren’t planning for Canvas when Overcome happened but let me be)
White tiger is a precious husky power vocal. Love him. Love his vocals. Love his old man jokes.
Baekho too has some interesting points. In Overcome, he’s seen seemingly lost in the forest, slowly making his way through. In Canvas, he’s seen in the completely opposite - a wide open air where he was the one letting out a smoke bomb. There’s 2 theories I have
(1) He the only member who wants to go back into the past. The world, when painted in smoke, is almost reminiscence of the misty forest he came from. It is possible that after coming to this world, they probably have little means to return.
(2) Smoke bombs can be used as a signal flare, and more than returning, Baekho wants to find the others in this world. They each probably ventured on a long, hard journey no less than Minhyun’s to reach this era, and they probably learned that it’s more important to work together to find the queen instead of just seeking restlessly. For this, it is possible that because of that, Baekho and JR finally crosses path.
Rewind ‘15, fight to new space, new chapter of our lifes time to chase my queen-
Okay, let’s rewind back to epilogue teaser. Here are the 4 key things I think is important, pocketwatch, which I mentioned could be a Talisman/knighted symbol, a treasure chest, the ancient key and the 5 stones.
Considering the whole fantasy genre we’ve talked about, really, I wouldn’t be surprised if the five stone has some sort of magical power. Or in this case, the physical embodiment of the knight’s power and perhaps even soul. This could be the trade-off to getting the missing queen back. The question is just who has the key, how did they find it, and are the stones already in there or being put inside of it.
There’s also the whole conspiracy theory that this could be the Queen’s mission for the knights to show how much they are willing to be her knight, though I’m not a fan of this one. (It’s not romantic enough, boo! >A<)
And than, I was wondering, what if the Queen had sacrifice herself for the knights. Remember in Q is., the boys mentioned that they transformed to become knights to protect the queen, and naturally, the Queen mean the fans, L.O.V.Es. Like I mentioned about the talisman/protection thing, what if the pocket watch is not only a knighting symbol, but a piece infused with the Queen’s powers to protect the knights.
That, meaning when she has exhaust her powers and given the last pocketwatch to Aron, rendering her powerless against an external power, calling her to be pulled out of the windows altogether. That, nonetheless could be an literal meaning to being willing to take the fall for the boys, her knights. This could explain the look of resignation on her face as she’s being pulled away. It is almost likely that she consulted or mentioned a related incident to Minhyun, though ultimately keeping her in the dark about the final consequences her disappearing), which then brought about the possible fight between the knights.
Recall we see the room JR stood in to be thrashed up and abandoned, and all the knights went on a search for the queen. But why not together, when it would obviously be easier? It’s possible that the disappearance right under their nose could result in a distrust between the members, causing the knighthood to fall apart as each member took on their ow route to find the queen; they eventually realised this was not meant to be, thus explaining why in Canvas, Minren were in the same shot, and JBaek were in the same shot.
I also refer to NU’EST’s Overcome Queen version, where the queen’s lines read ‘it's alright, boy, when the dark thorns hurt me and scratch me, yeah, please be my knight, so that this sadness can end’ and 'I won't forget, you're on my side'. There is an ultimate trust between the Queen and her knights. Also in the Epilogue, it reads ‘Waiting Q’, which could mean waiting for the Queen, or that the Queen is waiting for the boys - she believes that they will ultimately be bable to find her and re-unite.
Overall, this is a beautiful relationship that I feel narrates that of NU’EST and the L.O.V.E fandom. There is trust, there is waiting, there is love, and there is faith. NU’EST and L.O.V.Es echo each other in terms of reliance, and views each other as their heaven regardless of the hurt they’ve been through. While the Queen asked the knight to put the spell over her, she does not forget to croon the spell in return.
NU’EST (knights) and L.O.V.Es (Queen), will reunite and be together again, I can feel it! ; u ;
With just minutes to go, I wanna send my little message to NU’EST too. Well it’s been 4 years since their debut, and 3 years since I became a love. How I became a love is like a repeated story so I won’t get into that. All I want to say is, we’ve been through quite a few things, love and nuest as a whole, and I just want to wish them happiness for whatever comes next. I’m proud of what my boys have achieved even without a trophy, and nobody could say something else to change my mind.
Certainly there are some days I feel upset because I know they could achieve more and they deserve more than just this, but on others I can’t help but think, we’re still pushing forwards a milestone at each time. Thank you, for not giving up. Thank you, for continuing to chase your dreams. It’s been #3YearsWithNUEST for me, but I want to walk this path down a long long time till the end. I don’t want to view it as a countdown meter, but as a timer that counts our days together forward.
Also, just like the nu’vid, I wanna say in the 2017 me, as a LOVE, I want to achieve more. My love goal is to meet you in real life, don’t mess up and enjoy your concert. And also, to really support you in the next comeback, and the next and the next next next one. In 2017, I’d be a better, stronger LOVE for you. Stay healthy, take care, I love you.
So after more thoughts into the Alice in Wonderland theory (starting from here and it snowballed ahaHAHA)...I have a fanfiction to write ahaha, but just some fun theories to play with, I mean we really don’t know anything about it at all so why not?
OVERALL
Wonderland is full of life, but in the MV we see things void of it. Only snow, ruins, dead blue branches without any signs of life - yet, this contrasted with the nature theme in the teasers given, such as the pastel colored ones and especially the vines with white flowers. Granted, with the theme as the ‘Queen’, I’m also guessting that the five tracks will make a play on five words with ‘Q’ in it, maybe this is Quest, where they’re in search of Alice.

JR is the mad hatter, because the mad hatter is one of the more established characters that actually have a home of his own, and tea parties. In the teaser we see chandeliers, a chair with gold rim (thank you individual teasers) but they’re all in ruins, even the curtains.
Ren is the March Hare, because he’s seen kissing something with a chain. In most stories, the white rabbit carries a chain watch, always ranting about the need to rush. But here we see Ren in Black hair (but long, like long ears, maybe?) and no longer marching because everything is already thrown in disarray
Aron is the Dodo, the one who called for a caucus race - but he’s the only one left running in circles. While the original states that everyone won the race, because he’s doing it alone, he’s in an endless loop with no real ending (also because I like the pun on how he’s running since 2013 AHAHA opps)
Minhyun is the Caterpillar guru - one of the wiser, albeit brusque character who advice Alice - but here he seems lost, yet in search of something. He’s wearing googles, before taking them off as he look out into the vast white, it’s as if he’s waiting, or roaming really. Also remember that caterpillars turn into butterflies, as he’s always said that the process will ‘instead of being unnerving, it will be the high point of his life’. What if he woke up as a butterfly, but everything changed?
Baekho is the Puppy, the one who played with Alice, yet here the gardens have warped into trees, voided of leaves and left blue in the freezing wind. The landscape changed, and the pup has grown to a mature canine, so all that’s left was of him staring at what was supposed to be his old home
Chesire Cat (ICON!) - the one hidden in the shadowns, the one who sees it all, the one who lurks in the shadow. But he’s a passerby whose role isn’t to dictate the future, but watch as it unfolds.
Finally, you are Alice - Red Queen, White Queen, no one knows for sure who you are, but before that, they are waiting...
LAST BUT NOT LEAST (DISCLAIMER)
This is really just for fun. I’m also working a fanfic on this actually ; u ; so I think it’d probably work out quite interesting if I don’t give up haha but nothing here said is confirmed okay!
Feel free to discuss with me any of these ideas O W O Or tell me your theories! I mean other fandom have lots of conspiracy theories and it’s perfect time to do this with NU’EST so come come come ON! :D
