It was easy to say it most definitely wouldn’t, but that would risk being a lie if this non-human turned out to be sensitive to anything required for the procedures.

Najma stopped talking and soft hum left them. This was possibly going to go over Boe’s head. How to explain it in a way someone who had never heard of these methods in their life could understand?
“With scanning your brain, we can make image cross sections of it with which it is possible to pinpoint irregularities or see which parts of your brain become active when performing certain activities. One specialized in this is called a neuroradiologist,” Najma explained. “You will not be alone in a room with her if you don’t wish to be.”
Of course, there were more steps involved, but this was the earliest stage before narrowing things down with more finely-tuned sciences.
