If Domi overheard Vanitas talking about how he would hate anyone loving him because he’s disgusting to himself, she would have struck him down where he stood. He’s stealing her man AND now GIRL??? (Rather, Noé, who she wishes was hers and would do anything to have felt the same).
Dominique and Vanitas mirror each other in a whole other way. They both felt a hatred or abandonment of themselves as necessary. It could be argued in the name of love (Vanitas’s love of his brother & father before it was irreparably squashed). Family even ties into it.
She’s just over here like: I tried to become Louis as a f*cked up way of holding on to Noé, knowing it was useless. You complain about someone LOVING you?!!! And it SUPPOSEDLY isn’t even Noé…?
(Vanitas’s self-worth makes sense & perspective. I just find it would be both messed up and hilarious for this discourse to happen, as they would SOOOOO clash).
