never before have I felt more connected to that post that goes like "there is always a platonic explanation for this" with the aromantic flag overlay than I have playing Fields of Mistria and getting to the eight heart events with characters i fully intend to to look in the eyes and say "You're my best friend that is why I went looking for you in the dangerous mines. That is why I helped nurture this flower fed on feelings with you. You are what made this town feel like home, and I'm so lucky I could do that for you too."

like i understand that it feels a little silly having these clearly very built up moments with these characters that culturally feel very romantically geared, but also after bg3 I'm so relieved to play a game where you're able to go "you mean everything to me and I love you but am not IN love with you" and have that be important and meaningful and not a let down to the npc. This is awesome I love this game.

hey guys have i mentioned I love Palia? Decided to draw my player character / oc Neve Pinewood! I don't know asl myself so the finger spellings were based off some googling I did, let me know if I've used the wrong sign!

Anyways Neve is my pc! They're mostly a water type personality I think, though they have some tendencies for fire answers as well depending on the situation. (Mostly Auni, I feel the need to hype the kid up lol). They're courting Hassian and are close with Jina whose their shep!

They're a nerd whose enjoying the research they're doing through the ruins, though its an odd feeling to look at a past you don't remember but know was yours. They have a lot of complicated feelings about the whole reemergence. But they try to focus on the now, and being a good member of community!

Ramble more below the cut about them and their relationships for fun:

I think Never is deaf or at least hard of hearing in some way because I frequently play video games with the sound low or just off. So I think interpreting this as my character not usually being able to hear is fun. They have hearing aids though they don't always wear them, and they were a little flow fried after emerging from the riff.

Najuma has been allowed to tinker with the aids, though Hodari isn't thrilled that she's messing with medical equipment. But Neve doesnt see a lot of better options in the valley right now, and Najuma has done a decent enough job. Maybe they'll get comfortable enough to ask Subira for help.... but tbh they're not sure how to feel about her.

The first time their hearing aids were working properly they got to hear peoples voices really which was fun! Was not expecting Jel to sound like that though!! Really awkward out loud reaction to overhearing him speak tbh.

They can lip read fairly well, but they miss things a non infrequent amount (I as the player accidentally click through or skim dialogue and then end up having to guess what response I should have when given options whoops). They frequently choose to pretend they heard you perfectly fine and to awkwardly guess at a response, which is hit or miss, but the people who know them better have gotten better at realising when they're doing this thankfully.

They're fairly nonconfrontational and really just want the best for their friends and the village. They want everyone to be their best and try to understand people they don't normally agree with (Eshe). They're fairly polite and friendly, regardless of what they think of you, with the exception of Tamala as of recently seeing as she's crossed some lines with them...

They're a bit of a hoarder, never having enough chests for all their things. They're antsy about selling things in case someone needs something. They've getting better at finding things to sell if only to buy better storage lol. Their housing plot as a whole is just a MESS though, organized chaos at its finest.

I want to draw them and their interactions more tbh lol, I think their neat and I'm enjoying the game through them so :]

sending love to all fic writers out there <3 I'm deleted bookmarks on ao3 for works that have been deleted and it is HAUNTING. A total of 37 of my bookmarks are deleted works. many were in the 1-5 chapter range, most were under 10. I didn't note that they were finished so they were probably stories just getting off the ground, that didn't get to see their peak no matter how great of a premise they had. I only know this because I use my bookmarks like I'm meant to subscribe to works. I record what chapter I left off reading on in the notes (on priv).

There was one that i had noted left on a hiatus. There was another that I noted was being rewritten, I hope its thriving out there anew <3

Anyways, this is my little grieving love letter to authors out there <3 you're writing is so important and I understand any reason you may have for deleting it but your work wasn't in vain and it was loved.

had some fun redesigning old g3 ponies! While most of my childhood I had been watching g4, g3 was what got me into mlp as a toddler basically and where most of my toys came from haha. I was OBSESSED with A Very Minty Christmas and The Runaway Rainbow, so Minty and Rarity were at the top of my list to draw here :] Everyone else was just from looking at designs on the wiki tbh.

obligatory not that I'm not saying my designs are better, I drew this out of a love and nostalgia for g3, not as a way of bashing it or any other generation. Just having some fun and drawing pastel ponies. You know how it is.

jumpscare does anyone remember when I was really into Digimon? Well that fixation has never left I just went on to draw other things really lol. One of the first things I did when I got my tablet was concoct this Digimon Adventure TOH au.

I planned to do casual outfit versions, and maybe sports gear for a few of them. I wanted to do a second version with the 02 cast and ages, and I wanted to have the digimon companions a stheor palismen. I had a lot of ideas!! Alas I drew this way back when I had just gotten my new tablet and was still learning to draw with it, and I did NOT optimize my layers and ended up frustrating myself.

Would love to poke at this ay again though if anyone was interested, be it for art or just discussing logistics n stuff. I thought it was fun and they translated pretty well into the TOH style I think!

redirect me if this exists because I'm ravenous for it but I keep imagining an Alien Stage fic/au that combines canon with the modern looking au that is shown in Wiege.

Where any or maybe all of the survivors from canon get sort of isekaied to the modern au, and are affronted with a life they and their lost loved ones didnt get to live.

Mizi with all her survivors guilt seeing the world even grander than the daydreams she's imagined. Even in a perfect world she hadn't had the knowing to understand how free they could really be. A version of herself that gets to fall in love with Sua without the guilt and sacrifice. Who is so energetic and it isnt nearly as much of a farce as it's been for her in canon. Who doesn't have to debate her own survival and who lives every day reckless and bright as day.

Till after years to reckon with his feelings about Ivan since his death seeing a universe where they're alive and close and he still sees himself as stubborn as ever but he's so much closer to accepting the affection he could have had. A world he's been allowed to have his feelings in a safe environment, even if he still struggled to process them. He's friends with Mizi and she's within reach and he writes songs because he wants to and his mother raised him and is here.

Luka after being shunted back into the competition, forced back into the mold he lived in so long. Hyuna ripped from him for the last time... and suddenly in a world where she is alive. where he is more alive than he's ever felt. They're married and those words don't mean anything to Luka, but Hyuna is alive and he looks so happy. Her brother visits and the fact that he's alive at all sits heavy and burdening on Luka's shoulders. He runs to her even when he has to know this isnt real, and he can't recognize the person who he is in this universe. because that is a Luka that was raised with care. Medical issues properly addressed, he has glasses and he knows how to express himself in ways he's never understood himself in canon. alternatively, the same prompt but with the dead getting isekaied instead of the living.

Sua I admittedly have the least information on. But imagining a world where she is alive and neither her nor Mizi have suffered the grief of losing the other. Where she never had to struggle with the practice of her own death, knowing in advance she would die for Mizi, and that she couldn't allow herself to survive this.

Ivan seeing a world where Till has more room to breathe, more safety than ever. he focuses so much on Till, on Sua even, on anyone but himself. Until he is forced to realise he is not the same. Still close with these people, still similar enough to not realise at first that this version of him wouldn't have ever confronted the idea of sacrifice or survival. Not like he has. he would die for these strangers wearing his friends faces in a heartbeat and realises almost angrily that this version of him has never even considered it.

Hyuna in a life where she and her crew are able to hang out and chill, where they share history but are not nearly as dire she had to rely on them before. To see herself with Luka, a Luka she doesnt recognize. To see her brother alive and grown. To see everything she's lost and realise it didnt have to turn out as it had for her, but it did anyways and she loves the live her other self has, but she doesnt recognize it and it scares her as much as she wants it.
