Guy from your las test book!!!

Hi! I just wanted to let you know I absolutely adore your the 100 recaps and have been following them for years. I was wondering if you were planning to do them for the upcoming season? I understand if you don't feel like continuing them. I'm asking because I'm always looking so forward to them that it would be easier to know in advance there wouldn't be any more. Regardless what you decide to do, I'm so grateful for all those years you made me laugh despite the darkness of the show.
Yeah, I’m out.
Sorry, I hope this won’t disappoint you too much, I’m very thankful you liked my recaps and followed them all this time.
Take care, and may we meet again !
me: hmm my dash is kinda dead these days I should follow more people
also me, a moment later: *unfollows 3 blogs*
Usually my mood is ‘crying because I miss clarke griffin’ or ‘crying because I miss bellamy blake’ or sometimes even ‘crying because I miss clarke-griffin-and-bellamy-blake-the-iconic-duo’ but tonight my mood is mostly ‘crying because I miss raven reyes’. She’s so fucking amazing, guys.
What I've learned today: DON'T FUCKING READ FANFICTION WHILE BRUSHING YOUR TEETH BECAUSE YOU MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO RESIST THE URGE TO SMILE WIDELY AND then you'll have to deal with toothpaste all over your face.
that’s cool; the only thing i’ve ever learned from reading fanfictions is how to lose sleep;
and also how to die;
because of all the emotions and stuff
I've been reading your hilarious recaps for a few seasons now, and my favorite part is your slow, unwilling descent into shipping bellarke.
Yeah, I resisted valiantly. Like 4 whole seasons.
Funnily enough, I think doing the recaps was my downfall : I knew lots of my readers/followers were bellarke shippers so I made sure to include lots of jokes about these two assholes to make people happy, especially when season 4 aired, and … I think I played myself ??? Because I definitely didn’t see them as a romantic thing before I started recapping the show, but I think the more I joked about bellarke, the more I could see the potential ?
Post-season 2 I was like : I love Bellamy & Clarke but I hope they NEVER get together !!! Friendship is important !!!! Not all fictional friendships need to turn romantic !!!!
Post-season 3 I was : ok I guess maybe Bellamy has a thing for her, I don’t know about her, maybe the writers will go there, maybe they won’t, I don’t know how I feel about that, meh :/
During season 4 I was like : … yeah I guess this is going to happen at some point before the show ends, and, well, I love these two, as long as they’re happy why not … ?
AND THEN PRAIMFAYA HAPPENED AND MY RESISTANCE SHATTERED. AND GOD I HATE MYSELF. I MEAN IT’S A BEAUTIFUL SHIP BUT IT CANNOT POSSIBLY END WELL. SHIPPING THESE TWO IS REALLY BAD FOR MY HEALTH.
But at least I’m not suffering alone and this fandom is amazing, so there’s that !
Anyway, thank you for reading my recaps, especially if you’ve been there since the beginning. I really appreciate that !
I went to Youtube to watch the next episode promo for the 100 and I'm disgusted??? People apparently rejoice that Jasper's dead because he was "annoying" and "selfish". This made me even more sad than watching the episode.
I’m not surprised, lots of fans are annoyed at Jasper. It started with season 3. Because ... I don’t know exactly why to be honest. The writers on the 100 put the characters through ridiculously tough situations, and then they make them move on because they have to, or because they’re strong enough or because they’re awesomeness incarnate like Raven Freaking Reyes, but I’ve always appreciated that they took that one character, Jasper, and showed us what happens when a character can’t move on, or doesn’t have in him to do so. It’s heartbreaking, and brutal, and interesting.
I’m not sure why the storyline didn’t have an impact on everyone (although I can understand why the execution wasn’t always well received). Maybe exactly because the other characters were moving on, therefore some fans couldn’t empathize with the one little guy who couldn’t ?
Don’t forget that fandoms are places where emotions run high, and, well, let’s just say fans aren’t always ... moderate in their likes and dislikes. There’s this sort of black and white mentality among certains fans who can’t just appreciate it when characters behave in certains ways or have unlikable traits. Maybe because they’re projecting on them too much ? I don’t know, but sometimes the reactions in fandoms are so over-the-top that they flirt with the absurd.
A character does something wrong : OH MY GOD THEY’RE EVIL. A character does something right : THEY’RE THE PUREST CINNAMON ROLL. There was a poll recently about the worst villain in the show and somehow Bellamy was on the top of the list ??? ... Like ... Bellamy ? How ? I’ve also seen fans recently writing off completely Clarke as a character because of the bad choices she made in the past three episodes and just ... Can’t they let characters do bad things ? Can’t they let them be wrong and watch the story unfold ?
Fans are extreme, because ... well they’re fans. Some of them channel that into writing fanfictions, metas, creating edits and fanarts, or just squeeing really hard about their show on the internet, etc., and other channel this energy into ... bitching on YouTube comments. We can’t help what they do or what they think. My advice ? Don’t take it personally and try to enjoy your little corner of the fandom in peace.
I'm so stressed over the 9 months to come that I just started reading the books >:( I legit can't wait so might as well read about them (but not quite)
I prefer the Classic Fanfic Solution myself, because I don’t think that the books have anything to do with the show (although Bellamy as a tree-loving hippie is as a concept both terrifying and beautiful and it nearly makes me want to read them)
I think I’m just going to cry some more about the finale, then rewatch the entire show, and since I can’t write fics I’ll probably compensate by doing more recaps.
WE DO WHAT WE MUST TO COPE
