Hi I just had a question about the ectoberhaunt. So the 150 words after the Read more or 10 lines/chunks of text. Is that basically a hard word limit? If so that what ballpark are we looking at for summary/preview before hand?

the word/line limit is for if you need a readmore or not. the 150 words/10 lines is an example of when you should include a readmore.

there's 0 limit to how much you are allowed to write, we just ask that longer fics get posted under a readmore with a summary of what to expect before clicking it.

if long fics do not get a readmore, we simply will not reblog it.

Sorry another ask, I'm thinking of a Bleach Crossover/AU for Day 10 but I don't know if that means it's a better fit for the Magic or Science prompt or even a different day

Ooops! Sorry for the late reply. Perhaps your ask was hidden by the (in)Box Ghost.

Crossovers are welcome in the event outside of the Isekai weekend, so as long as the fill contains DP characters and elements, and fits the prompts you wish to use, it's up to you to decide which prompt to use for it.

For CW tags, you can check the kind of warnings we have added in the past on our blog (i.e. blood, gore, death, drugs, body horror, existentialism, vermin, cosmic horror, insects, etc) and check if any of them fit. If it's something that might cause stress or anxiety to the audience or if it's a well-known squick, it's definitely worth mentioning in your tags.

We do accept multiple prompts on one piece and you can tag all the prompts that apply to that piece when you post so we know which to tag when we reblog it.

Sorry hi, I have another question, and thanks for answering the last one so quickly. And sorry if this has already been asked. So the prompt list is divided between Science vs Magic, but are we allowed to take say hypothetically the Science tag Hunt and write in the direction of say The Wild Hunt which is definitely more of a Magic thing?

We pick two themes for the contrasting dual prompts each year just for the fun of it, but it's not necessary to adhere to any theme to participate in the event.

You're free to explore any prompt any way you wish (as long as it's DP related); we always love the many interpretations participants can have of the prompts. You can also feel free to combine days/prompts as you like.

You will see the original themes tagged in our reblogs (which we dutifully tag to track event participation each year), but that's all.
