Day 5: born
It took several days until Jayce finally reached the point where he just needed the baby to be born. He was swollen, exhausted, and so done with everything. His mother stayed by his side, helping him with breathing exercises, movements, anything to get him ready.
Viktor, on the other hand, had a whole list prepared: bags packed with Jayce’s clothes, towels, snaks? The car ready, a stopwatch, even the belief that he would somehow know the exact moment their baby was coming.
Jayce was anxious, torn between pressure and desperation. One evening, he secretly made himself some warm, sweet milk without telling Viktor.
While standing there, he suddenly felt an overwhelming pressure on his bladder… and then the wetness running down his legs.
“Oh.” That was all he managed to say before calling for Viktor.
Viktor practically lost his mind on the road, rushing them to the hospital in record time. He demanded a wheelchair the moment they arrived, even though Jayce didn’t feel like he needed one. He wasn’t even in pain yet—just oddly calm.
“How are you feeling?” someone asked.
Jayce had no idea how to answer. All he felt was the dampness between his legs, but nothing new or alarming.
The hours dragged on, with nurses and doctors checking in, while Viktor never left his side. And then, in an instant, it went from nothing… to everything.
Pain.
Really pain.
A kind of pain so raw it felt like his body was splitting apart. Everything hurt, even the strands of his hair. Everything hurt, even the tips of her hair. Jayce trembled as a chorus of voices urged him to push, even his own body asking for it, and He do, again and again but the pain are more harder for anything, he feel cant do more, though he tried, it felt impossible.
“I can’t… I can’t…” he cried, tears streaming down his face.
“Jayce, just a little more, you can do this” Viktor’s voice was steady, warm, as he pressed a kiss to his forehead.
With one final push, Jayce heard it—the cry. Relief flooded him, exhaustion crashing in right after. He was too tired to even open his eyes, just letting himself collapse into the bed. Around him, he heard the sounds of movement, felt gentle hands wiping his face, soft kisses breaking through the haze.
And then…something small and warm was placed into his arms. Instinctively, Jayce held on as if his life depended on it. Forcing his eyes open, he finally saw.
“Hey little one, I’m your papa” His voice cracked, but a smile broke through his tears as he looked at his baby girl.
“She’s beautifull” Viktor whispered as he leaned closer to see her.
“And this,” Jayce added softly, guiding the tiny hand that who clung tightly his much larger finger to Viktor hand “Is your dad, We’ve been waiting for you.”
Viktor looked proud, radiantly proud. The resemblance was undeniable: she was his exact copy, except for her skin, which was unmistakably Jayce’s. They didn’t need any kind of proof; it was obvious she was their daughter. Viktor gently stroked Jayce’s hand and kissed it, his heart overflowing with happiness; A silent thank you to Jayce for everything he had endured to bring their little girl into the world.
“Miss Ximena is waiting to see her granddaughter” Viktor whispered between soft kisses to Jayce.
“I’m still so tired…” Jayce murmured.
“Then sleep, lásko. I’ll take care of you both.” Jayce simply nodded, carefully placing the baby in Viktor’s arms. He knew Viktor would protect her while he tried to recover, though his body was still trembling with pain.
After a long sleep, when Jayce woke again, the first thing he saw was Viktor on the small couch, whispering gently to their daughter. And in that moment, despite the exhaustion, Jayce felt an overwhelming happiness. He’d a wonderfull family. [Prev ] [Next ]
Day 3: Preparations.
Jayce almost cried when he saw the decorations at his mother’s house. The gifts, the girls clapping and yelling congratulations for being a future father… Maybe the pregnancy hormones were to blame for making him feel so emotional. He just hugged everybody in the room, crying and laughing at the same time, and ate his favorite cake that Cait and Vi had prepared for him.
Jinx said he needed to be prepared to make a nice place for the baby. All the presents were baby clothes, blankets, toys, and important items to take care of the little one. Jayce really appreciated all of these gifts. He’d been so stressed by the news, by the changes in his body, and with so many things on his mind that he had almost forgotten the most valuable thing: he could always count on his family’s support, no matter what.
Ximena filled him with kisses, thanking him for making her a proud grandmother. Jayce hadn’t expected her to be so happy about this, but the acceptance he received was overwhelming in the best way.
At the end of the party, Jayce stayed talking with his mother about how difficult he had been as a child—such a curious little boy, eager to discover how things worked, always wanting to help with everything around the house, always helpful but never knowing when to stop asking questions or saying no. Jayce laughed at the memories; he didn’t recall much of it, but he was sure he’d always be grateful for everything his mother had done for him.
“I’m sure you’re going to have a busy time with that little one,” Ximena smiled.
“I'm little nervous,” Jayce confessed
“Oh, my dear, I know it can be hard, but you’ll do very well.” His mother patted his shoulder affectionately. “This little gift will be filled with pure love.” She began to carefully and lovingly touch his belly, humming softly concentration.
“Thanks, Mom.” Jayce repeated the touch, feeling inside as the baby restlessly acknowledged it.
“Oh… almost forgot.” Ximena pulled out another bag and began taking out some particularly familiar clothes. “You need to take this.”
Jayce’s eyes lit up—it was his baby clothes. His mother was handing them to him, almost like a precious family heirloom.
“Wow, some of theses are mostly bigger ones” Jayce said, looked at the three pajamas—the only ones that were still small. Not that small, but compared to the others, which were pretty big for a baby, they definitely looked tiny.
“You was a big one, honey and you grew up so fast,” Ximena giggled softly.
“This means so much to me.”
“This is an important time,” Ximena encouraged. “But now, tell me… did you tell him?”
“Uhmm… I…” Jayce lowered his gaze. “I figured… I can’t say it in a call or a text message. I’m just waiting for him to come back to the city so I can talk about the news in person.” He began to caress his belly, noticing closely how much it had grown.
“I understand, son, but you need to be clear with him. You can’t hide this forever, and you’ve already decided to take this responsibility for yourself.”
“I know…” he sighed.
“I’m sure everything will be fine.” Ximena caressed her son’s cheek to reassure him. Even though he was already a future father, he would always be her little one.
Jayce nodded happily. They both continued sorting through the gifts and organizing them. Soon Jayce would take them back to the small apartment he shared.

Day 2: Cravings
Three weeks earlier, Jayce had wanted to keep the news about his pregnancy a secret. He begged Cait not to say anything while he thought about his choice. Obviously, Jayce decided to take on the role of father, giving in to the weird cravings, eating more and more, always saying the baby needed it. Cait couldn’t hide it, though—the first person she told was her girlfriend, Vi. Her excuse was as girlfriend she couldn’t keep secrets from her.
But Vi… she was terrible at keeping her mouth shut. She spilled it in a second to Jinx and her boyfriend, Ekko. Jayce felt betrayed.
Cait was quicker to explain: Jayce needed to understand he couldn’t hide it from the people around him. Especially, he had to go and talk to his mother as soon as possible. In the end, Jayce went to his mother’s house and revealed the whole truth. In that moment, Jayce felt like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders.
Meanwhile, Cait and Vi kept asking questions. They already knew about the pregnancy, but Jayce refused to talk about who the other parent of the child was. He didn’t say a word. Finally, Cait changed the subject and started preparing a surprise.
This is where Ekko came in, Vi’s sister’s boyfriend.
While the girls organized the surprise, Ekko had to keep Jayce distracted. And what better way than keeping his stomach happy with lots of food. The young boy’s first idea was simply to let Jayce eat the sweetest Piltover cakes, but Jayce didn’t seem interested. While walking down the street, they ended up in a strange corner of Zaun. Jayce said his nose had brought him there.
Ekko didn’t mind at first, but later, after they sat at a table for two and Jayce read the menu, he realized just how much pregnancy could influence strange cravings. Ekko completely lost his appetite.
“I didn’t know you liked this kind of food,” he said, struggling to look away.
“Hmm… this is the first time,” Jayce muttered with his mouth full.
“Are you for real?” Ekko stared at him, intrigued.
Jayce didn’t talk much—he just needed to eat. His focus was entirely on trying out curious mixtures of Zaunite food, while Ekko had little choice but to keep him company, so just realice to ask.
“So… does your partner know?” Ekko finally asked.
“No. Nobody needs to know about this.”
Ekko glanced at the large, obvious bulge of Jayce’s belly, protruding from under his oversized sweater. It was getting harder to hide.
He doesn’t know Jayce personally; he only knows about his research, projects, and the presentations about Jinx mentions over keeps talking about be a big fan of Viktor’s work, a collaborator … or so Ekko thinks. Everything he’s heard about Jayce comes from Jinx and Vi. For a moment, he thinks Jayce is awful: very predictable, stubborn, and quite stupid for someone called a genius. On the other hand, maybe Jayce just plays the fool to hide all the information surrounding his pregnancy.
Ekko doesn’t want to investigate too much; this isn’t his business. At the end of the day, he’s just helping to prepare that surprise baby party. The things he does for love. [Prev ] [Next ]
