I’ve been writing for quite a bit now, but fanficiton wise, only a few months. Here are my few tips:
Read the characters background/lore. It helps to get to know a character better and grasp who they really are. Once you’ve done that, I personally have found it much easier to then use their lore to explain things they might do.
EX: Character A has trauma regarding dogs, so if you are in a relationship with Character A and you have dogs, you may have to help Character A become used to dogs again. (or smt like that)
If your stuck in what you should write, I like to go to Pinterest (or any other search engine) and type in “troupes to write about fanfic” or things among those lines. It’s super helpful and gives you more ideas on what to write involving the character.
Once your done writing, go back through and proof read it. Hell, go ahead and draft the whole thing. I can guarantee you are going to find things worth keeping and changing.
Don’t stress yourself out about it! Writing is supposed to be a fun and creative outlet when your in need of it. Don’t push yourself to hard and take your time with things.
