Random thoughts Dbd edition number... Whos counting lol
One of the big things I had to think about when getting into the plot of day by day was what to do with Liliana. I knew from the start of day by day that I wanted Liliana to haunt Imogen's narrative just as much as she did in canon but the choice to have her already passed away was honestly made in the moment. I have put some thought into an au of the au where Liliana was still alive but I don't know if that one will ever see the light of day.
Including the Summersby's in the overall plot was another choice that was made kind of spur of the moment. I'd kind of had the lose idea that Imogen would wind up having some family in Westview, as a "its a small world" kind of thing but the choice to have Matt (who was meant originally to be a one-off character only seen a handful of times) be one of them was again, made in the moment. I will say that the messy, generational family drama has been both fun and a little heartbreaking to write. I had more initially planned for Mabel and Joe; They're such a hot bed for drama due to the grief, the anger, the general betrayal of the secrets that got kept but honestly, writing them in the same scene kind of makes me want to cry and let me tell you; Day by day's made me cry more than once. In a way, Liliana is a ghost that's haunting all of them, not simply Imogen though it's dealt with in a lot of varying ways.
