about the ask about nickel hating clover that she sees it as a crush: i love that, that's hilarious as hell, but honestly i see their dynamic completely different! mostly uh. after a full redemption arc. whenever that happens.
see, to me, nickel's most intrinsically hard-to-deal-with trait is that he's afraid of change. this is why he's mean to balloon, this is why he latches onto baseball, this is why he dislikes so many of the iii contestants- especially clover firsthand, because she's so different. so happy, so go-with-the-flow, and she changes the game with her luck.
but when he gets over that fear, he's devastated by the realization of what he's done. he hurt others. he traumatized someone who genuinely had paranoia, and he was mean to a girl that was nothing but nice to him. so of course he's terrified of himself!
and then clover comes back, wants to know how he and the others have been doing, gets him to come out of his shell again. they talk and they talk and she's the bridge between him and balloon, him and baseball, him and suitcase- and eventually the bridge between himself and his problems.
maybe they fall in love, maybe they don't, but yeah that's how i see them. i've thought way too hard about this
