LOOK AT ALL THE STORY UPDATES!!!!!!! AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!
One day I’m going to look back on my life and say, “Wow I was such a dweeb.”
But then I’ll look at my myself and say, “Wow I’m still a dweeb.”
Me and my sister are such geeks. "Normal" females enjoy going out and shopping together. And then there's us. We have to force ourselves to get off the couch where we spend the eveings we hang out together watching hours of TV in our sweatpants and make ourselves go to the mall together to buy bathing suits. Even then we're only doing it because we have to have them for the beach and we're going to reward ourselves with dinner afterwards. I'm so glad she's a geek like me :) itsalways1895tome
Me: I got everything accomplished today. I'm going to get into bed early tonight and get some extra sleep!
Muse: Nah, we're going to stay up and write fic
Me: But-
Muse: *beats you with extreme shippy Mortinez feels*
Me: Okay...*starts typing feverishly*
That moment when you realize you've reveiled too much information about your fandom life to an outsider
Did you know there are people who exist who do not know what fanfiction is? People who, in fact, want it and yet know nothing about it??
I just overheard the most hilarious conversation. My 50-something aged boss was talking to one of my co-workers about this one time she re-wrote a chapter of a particular young adult book that left her unsatisfied emotionally and wanting more. She was talking like it was the most ridiculous thing she ever did to rewrite the chapter to meet her needs and that it must be kept a secret. It was like she had come up with this completely original idea and I'm over in office trying not bust a gut while holding in my laughter and thinking:
But you better believe I KEPT MY MOUTH SHUT. They at least think I'm a little normal, right now. No need to let them know that at least 85% of my thoughts during work hours are writing fanfics.
Hi. :) #20 on the writing thing.
Hi! Go nuts and talk about my writing…well I’m already nuts so we’re halfway there :)
Fanfiction has been a surprisingly wonderful thing for me and I mean that sincerely. I started writing about two years ago. I was going through some stuff in my personal life at that time that was driving me crazy. They were things and situations I couldn’t change but I just fixated upon them and writing gave me a great escape from that. I’ve always been a very emotional person and writing has given me an outlet and given me a way to deal with all of those really powerful feelings. It’s really been a form of therapy and helped a lot in helping me make sense of my own thoughts and feelings.
I love being able to add to the stories of the characters that I love. I work a pretty mundane day job that doesn’t require a lot of brain power but I am someone who has a very active mind. Coming up with these stories has really given my mind the stimulation it needs when the environment around me doesn’t. Most of the time I think I really would be crazy by now if I hadn’t started writing. It’s helped me improve my writing and actually gotten me thinking about writing my own stories. The feedback I’ve received from other writers has given me the confidence I need to actually believe that I can do that.
To make a long answer short, writing has been one of the best things to happen me in the past couple of years. I couldn’t stop now if I wanted :)
