It's been almost two weeks since @fannibalfest-toronto ended, so now that I’ve had time to digest it, I’ll be creating a few posts to share my experiences at the second all Hannibal Con!
Thursday was one of the two location tours, where Fannibals visited the David Dunlop Observatory, Will's House and Workshop, the Angel-Maker Barn and TWOTL Finale House. I missed the tours again this year, due to my anxiety issues. I’m hopeful I’ll be in a better place to participate in the tours at FFT3. It's absolutely wonderful to see all the photos from the tour and to see all the Fannibals having a great time!
Thursday night was the Second Annual Stag Awards Dinner! We had a lovely pan seared chicken breast with smashed red potatoes and veggies. Dessert was a delicious chocolate truffle cake!
The Stag Awards consist of several categories: Flower Crowns, Food Styling, Jewellery, Wearable Art/Textiles, Buttons/Pins, Digital Art and Fan Fics. Anyone can enter, even if you're not attending Fannibal Fest (something to keep in mind for FFT3). The theme for this year was Nakama, which was a bit tricky for some of the categories. Attendees voted for their favourite in each category, prior to the Convention and then the awards for 1st and 2nd place were handed out at the dinner. It's a wonderful event to celebrate the creativity of our Fandom!
I entered a flower crown, a piece of digital art, a textile print and a pin/button design.
I was awarded 2nd place for my textile design, winning a beautiful glow in the dark pin by Karla Del Cid!
I was awarded first place for my pin/button design, winning an autographed copy of Hannibal signed by Bryan Fuller!
My brother also won second place for Food Styling, with his take on Kholodets as a dessert!
After the Stag Awards Dinner, there was a great round of Hannibal Trivia, hosted by Lori Morimoto!
Stay tuned for Friday's Fannibal Fest post!!
