Reflection
Hello, this is another small creation I made for the Raise Hell campaign. There’s only 2 days left for anyone interested in supporting the Ravage Anthology kickstarter. Bryan Fuller has his copy, have you bought yours? Get one now before it’s too late! Many thanks to the @lovecrimebooks mods for organizing this. Without further ado, here’s a short poem:
Reflection From the very first meeting I should have known That you would be my undoing A place to call home
The scent of fevered fear And the wild look in your eyes Oh, how I adored the ways You hid all your lies
It pained me more than I could admit To know you so well, yet some parts I still missed A shield of fragile morality Blood drunk lips I could kiss
Despite our betrayals, battered trust Not a seconds regret Nor one action would change They led you to me, cracked open, bereft
To feed and to love With darkened hearts, ripped opened chests A treasure trove, a feast, Perhaps some wine, to help you digest?
I love more harshly than you could know With sharp teeth, hidden claws A pitch black possession of your soul Beautiful, sensitive, I willingly fall
For you, from you, towards you Every path an eventuality Escape is futile as you’ve surely learned Our bond, a practice in totality
They say the best guiding hand is from above Then was our meeting an inevitability A destined clashing of souls And one that tested your balance, stability?
Ravaged mind, I held you with stubborn glee For you could never flee far from me The guiding light within the darkness I dwell Yes, you are more radiant, than the rest of the swill
Now here we stand, together or nothing at all No room for morality in the teeming depths of hell Tell me, dear Will, how deep is your hunger We feed, but what we become, only time will tell
