Current shenanigans 😅
Remembering all the people complaining about Jayce getting "woobified" and his negative traits polished away by fanon, helps me see the humor in this:

I don't see why Jayce can't be a puppy AND petulant.🤔💭🐶🐺
I see this complaint about Jayce fanon characterization sometimes. But I still believe both sides of Jayce can be simultaneously true.
He can be a petulant child or a silly little kid.
He can be recklessly lashing out or a sunshine golden retriever.
He can be super intensely angry or super intensely sensitive.
He can be an openly vulnerable cinnamon roll or accusatory and self-righteous.
I thought we all liked him because of his many layers?
But of course, if you're spending your time in the shipping parts of fandom, there's going to be an imbalanced emphasis on his cinnamon roll puppy sides. Within shipping, he's going to mostly be depicted spending time with his partner that frequently makes him happy and he as a lot of affection for. Those sides are going to get over-emphasized.
Along with the fact that Viktor knows how to stay calm while Jayce is being intense, and knows how to handle him. The sharper edges of Jayce's intensity are often going to be smoothed over.
But I do agree that the idea of Jayce never being mean is OOC. He canonically makes such big mistakes, that they drive the plot. lol He can make the mistake of being mean.
Also, the idea of Viktor being mean is kind of crazy. The Viktor who calmly asked, "What difference does that make?" while Jayce is hissing prejudices vs Zaun? The Viktor who saw the Hexcore's potential to help others before himself? No.

Been noticing a trend, since I added that jv bluesky starter pack
Twitter: sub viktor, alpha jayce
Bluesky: top viktor, bottom jayce
.
Maybe me?: switch viktor, switch jayce, but jayce usually tops bc he's more emotionally forthright and viktor can rest on his back. But also, viktor is a very bold, proactive, persistent person. When he's not up against an emotionally repressive mental block, there's nothing stopping him. Still, compared to jayce, I think I headcanon viktor as more often hesitant about emotional connection where he doesn't play the savior role. He's still hesitant about exposing his vulnerabilities and allowing them to be accepted, instead of just "fixing" them. Whereas jayce is accustomed to being a constant open wound, by relative comparison. I think I just read seme as the person less hesitant about making intimate emotional connections. ...I wonder if that hypothesis stands with how staunchedly Bottomitri I was biased in dmcl?... Or, I wonder if I just prefer seme jayce and uke viktor, and just haven't come to terms with having that preference yet?...
