13. What line from your WIP would your fandom constantly quote?

Ooh, this one is tough! My writing isn't particularly full of any sort of wisdom or anything, but... maybe something fun?

Technically more than a line, but it's one I chuckle at:

Humans had an idea that there was something after death. If you were good, you went to... Heaven? I imagined Heaven felt this nice. But I hadn’t been particularly good, so I doubted I would go there. Must not be dead, then.

My ideal audience is young adult + adult fans of epic fantasy who are queer and are interested in vintage fashion, dark academia, eldritch monsters, quests, mythology, or some combination of those interests.

Edward, Lucas, and Ayesha are people's fan favorites currently in my (very limited) test audience.

Off-white, the color of a formerly white dress that has changed color with age.

7. You’ve published or shared your WIP and it develops rabid fandom. What’s the fandom known for?

Rabidly defending Blys from people outside the fandom who have no critical thinking skills about my MC, Posey du Blys (who goes by her surname). I based Blys, my MC, on how I wish Sarah J Maas had been brave enough to do with Nesta—make a very traumatized and prickly narrator who has to actually grapple with the ramifications of them lashing out at the people they love. Sometimes trauma is ugly and destructive and you have to handle the ramifications of your actions afterwords without anything being able to be swept under the rug for plot convenience.

17. You should’ve expected it, but you’re still surprised when you find out people aggressively ship (which non-canon pairing of OCs?)

I know fandom well and I will want to beat my head against a keyboard for it, but people will ship Blys with her stepsister Jane. Jesus Christ, it will it bother me though.

10. Which scene from your WIP would make good fanart fodder?

The secret wedding scene that takes place in the attic of Ivy House between Antigone and Edward! They have secretly get married for plot convenience (only a member of his family can wear the Arcane Artifact he holds, and if he dies she needs to be able to wear it to protect it). Of course, Edward (Dorimus's Dark Lord-in-hiding) and Antigone (my main protagonist) are an endgame ship but still, I hope everyone gets super excited about that scene.

"I thought I wanted power. But I realize now all I wanted is you."

14) Which character from your WIP becomes the fan favorite?

From Tropical Storm, probably Scout. For better or worse (and I know this because I already have 1 fan of her who thinks this), they'll likely consider her a milf. I have accepted her future fate.

From Hidden Earth, probably Vasco. I like to think he can be pretty relatable among fellow neurodivergents.

18) What kinds of fics could people write about your WIP?

For both, probably angst, romance, hurt/comfort, fluff. I'm sure more horny fans would end up writing ship smutt fics, too. I just hope on Tropical Storm ones they leave poor Cooper out of those since he's my canon aro/ace.

I'm really not sure! What kind of line do people quote a lot? Humour? Wisdom? Something that just.. summarizes the story?

Well, here's one of my favourites, nonetheless:

Xuân’s smile grew. Slow, the curls of their lips rose to reveal glittering white fangs, their free hand darting forward to lock with the sailor’s own, eyes crinkling in glittering green that shone with a glowing mist that I recognized far too late as--

“Deal.” Magic.

6. Describe a trope present in your WIP.

Pretty much everything is a trope! I'll give you one of my favourite minor ones, though, so as not to spoil anything big. ^^

It's called the Extended Disarming trope, and I just! I love it! Also called "the person carrying an absurd and improbable number of weapons must remove them all (to the bewilderment of those around them)" trope, it serves to add a sense of comedy to the character that you probably should be terrified of~

My favourite example of this trope is of course in Pirates of the Caribbean, with Miss Elizabeth Swann putting done a whole pile. (But then again--I'm biased towards badass ladies!)

In Anchored Souls, the most obvious use of this trope is always around Captain Xuân, my less-than-sane pirate captain known for being particularly ruthless in a fight, with a love of hoarding shiny things. With Xuân, this hoard of weaponry shows her paranoia--always having something to fight with helps assuage her fears of being caught off-guard, and is a rather unhealthy coping mechanism against the horrific hallucinations she sometimes experiences.

Although no doubt to be brought up more, so far I've planned out two major Extended Disarming scenes for Xuân: one is the classic, where she's asked to put down all weapons before entering a sacred place of peace. The second is where she's actively fighting against a skilled opponent, one who seems to have a counter for every weapon she pulls...

19. You attend a convention and see someone cosplaying one of your OCs! How are they dressed?

Gonna be honest, a lot of my characters would be pretty difficult to cosplay because of incredibly unique appearances, heights especially. XD Aside from Dione, I think... mm, Celestine when she's older would be really fun? Kinda spoiler-ish, since that doesn't pop up until book three, but find yourself a white wig that's literally a cloud and the fanciest flowy dress you can find, some neato contacts and maybe even have fun with fake wing-fins! It'd be very cool looking, definitely. *o*
