I’ve finished my reading and I think that I finally have a good idea of how to play and act as DM. I’m not very confident about it, but I do feel ready enough to try it out in our test run.
I’ve done a lot more in planning for the first adventure, but not it’s not completely done. Since I’ve found that D&D games can spend a lot of time in the same place I need to make sure that I’ve got my bases covered and can adapt to whatever happens.
I think I’m almost done with incorporating the Animal Crossing world into the D&D one. I’ve about finished writing how the Special NPCs will work and a general mythos about the world.
I’ve decided that race will be based almost entirely on the D&D mythos. There aren’t going to be any special advantages for being a certain animal, these will instead be factored in by their half-race (orc, elf, dwarf, etc.) like they would be normally. The only definitive thing that (I think) will change based on the animal species is size and weight, but I’ll just have to wait and see how creative ya’ll will get about it.
I’m going to keep most of the items and spells from D&D intact because it’s just too much trouble for me to do those from scratch.
What Still Needs to Be Done
Most of the monsters from D&D will exist in this world, but I do want to work on at least turning the gyroids into a functioning enemy if not the fish, bugs, and fossils.
I want to get at least one or two other maps ready. So I’ll be having a discussion with one of my helpers on that.
I need to plan when the best time to play is. I think that nearly every single person who “signed up” lives in a different time zone, so I’m going to have to work around that.
Since my custom classes seem like they’re going to be too much trouble to implement (at least by a newbie), and race will work be based on the preexisting races of D&D, I think that it’s safe to start working on and submitting character sheets. If we run into any problems, then I’ll handle them then. But for now, just make your character sheet the same way you would any other normal D&D character.
I think that’s all for now. I’ll make another post or update this one if anything else comes up. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
