Some of my ASOMAM costume designs notes
Rhohynar fashions for me are fun to design cuz I was taking inspo from Dune fashions, Ancient Arabian fashions and Asassin Creed fashions in spades
Lots of Arabian fantasy desert core styles in spades, and a mix of fantasy and a tribute to Arabian culture 🤩🤩🤩🤩😁😁
For New Ghiscari fashions, I opt to design them with a mix of Ancient Egyptian and Islamic Egyptian inspired elements in spades
For Tyroshi fashions, I designed them with a mix of Ancient Phoenician and Islamic Lebanese fashion elements in spades
For Qohori fashions, I designed them with a mix of Islamic Syrian and Ancient Palmyran fashion elements in spades 🤩🤩🤩
For Volanits fashions, I designed them with a mix of Ancient Amazigh and Islamic Moroccan fashion elements in spades
For Mantarys ( which I think is inspired by Ancient Algeria ) fashions, I designed them with a mix of Ancient Kabyle and Islamic Algerian fashion elements
For Bayashabad ( which I think is inspired by Ancient Kabul ) fashions, I designed them with a mix of Ancient Bactrian and Islamic Afghan fashion elements in spades
For Samyriana ( which may be inspired by Ancient Samarkand ) fashions, I designed them with a mix of Ancient Sogdian, Medieval Uzbek and Mediebal Turkmen fashion elements in spades
And for Kayakayana ( which may be inspired by Ancient Osh, an ancient trade capital in Kyrgyzstan ) fashions, I designed them with a mix of Ancient Kyrgyz and Tajik fashion elements in spades
For Skahazadhani ( which is inspired by Ancient Persia ) fashions, I designed them in a mix of Ancient Persian, Medieval Persian and Ancient Iranian Plateau fashion elements in spades
Skahazadhani fashions is also fun for me to design cuz Ancient Iranian fashions is so diverse - from the Caspian vibe elements in Northern Iran, to resembling kinda more on West Indian and Pakistani fashions in Southeast Iran. It also all so fun, and I also take some inspos from Epic of Shahmaneh fashions in such designs
Lys is inspired by Ancient Sicily, so I imagine it's fashions to have a myriad of Ancient Sicilian, Greco Roman, Phoenician ( Sicily was once a Phoenician settler state ) and Byzantine inspired elements in spades
Lhazareen fashion is pretty tricky for me to design cuz there's all these braids on both men and women
And for the Inhumans to be depicted as Himalayan coded in ASOMAM ( as Stan Lee intended ) was a very wonderful process
I researched on Ancient Tibet and it turns out to cover today's Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan, and some parts of North India
So I'm like, ' I can't lose. '
I looked at images of Tibetan and North Indian Princesses and drew Princess Crystal of Lhazareen modeled on those images 🤩🤩🤩😁😁
For Summer Isles' fashion, when it turns out Summer Isles has a myriad of Carribbean, Aztec and Mayan influences, I jumped right into it and envisioned Summer Isles fashions having a mix of Indigenous Carribbean, West African, Aztec and Mayan inspired elements in spades
Like the women and men of the Summer Isles all love to wear flowers and natural elements on them
Queen Guerlande often wears tropical flowers on her big frizzy dark hair 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩😁😁
For Old Valyrian fashions, I went with several inspos of Ancient Roman, Greek, Phoenician, Carthage and Etruscan fashion elements in spades
Yi Tish fashions are my fave to design ( cuz, ya know, cultural relativity to me ). I went with a mix of Chinese opera, Chinese dances and Ancient Chinese fashion elements with the designs
I also take designs from Journey to the West and ATLA for those wardrobes
Haqodeshi fashions to be can be tricky
It is actually one of the harder costumes for me to design cuz I had to go look at non white washed depictions of Biblical figures to go look for those costume inspos. I basically took inspos from Medieval Palestinian and Ancient Biblical times Levantine fashions for designing those costumes 🤩🤩🤩🤯🥺🤯
Love these.
After browsing various options, I decided to go with Fantasy Fashion’s Renaissance sewing patterns. I’ll be making a 16th century Elizabethan style doublet and trunk hose/ breeches.

don't know if this question counts as fashion but high school freshman makeup. what do you suggest?
Makeup! I love makeup! But for me it depends on the day. If you’re looking to buy some good cheap makeup I suggest going over to:
www.bhcosmetics.com
They have AMAZING color pallets for good prices, and you can buy decent brushes off them too!!
Eyeliner I suggest going to MAC and getting their gel liner in a pot and applying it with a brush, and their foundations are great too.
I love color when I do my eyeshadow so I love experimenting. Sometimes I do a smokey eye but with colors, example a light teal going into a dark blue. Then I do cat eye eyeliner. I tend to always do my eyeliner big and bold. I like drama and definition of the eye.
Go natural if your unsure about color. Do a base of white or skin color, I recommend NYX eye primer, and do some light browns, peaches, creams, yellows. Stuff that looks really natural on your skin. Make it look effortless you know?
I only use blush for special events don’t waste your time on it unless your going for a very specific look.
Contouring takes too much time and honestly I’m not great at it. Youtube has some pretty amazing tutorials though. I don’t think you should worry about that though. It’s just school not a big event.
Really just do what you like! Play with your makeup, sit in your room one day and just do all kinds of new things. Watch youtube make up artists, google pictures of smokey eyes and have fun!! Makeup is an art form and it’s one that takes ALOT of practice to get good at!!
I hope this helps! Have fun babe!!
