It took a moment for Oscar to reply, for he had been leaning towards his King. His Majesty’s arm was around his neck, after all. He couldn’t have pulled away. Or maybe, he didn’t want to.
“What…what did you…” They were limp words. Really, he didn’t know what to say in return. The words were stolen from him when their lips touched, and now he was just staring at Malik from a few inches away.
He pulled away a little more. Not out of disgust, and not out of embarrassment. Like Malik, he was puzzled, and he was trying to figure out what’d they just done. It made him wonder if their tensed relationship was made worse or better because of this. Right now, Oscar suddenly forgot about the supposed evil the king was said to do. He just thought about the two of them.
And so, he stared.
