I’d love to know who edited the footage for this music video. The manipulation of his old video clips was great and a wonderful way to reflect on his career. Although slightly shoehorned at times, editing to make him “sing” the song was completely unexpected yet surprisingly fun to watch.

I also loved how the clips were spliced together to show his trademark moves lasting through the years! From classic “I’m Your Man” to more modern “Outside” then “Fastlove” back to “Monkey” - it was so fun to watch how his dancing really hasn't changed much :)

Sunday Tunes: 14/?     ~George Michael ft. Nile Rodgers - Fantasy

“Fantasy” was originally a B-Side released in 1990 and in 2016 it was sent to Nile Rodgers for rework so it could be the lead single from the “Listen Without Prejudice” reissue. On the 18th of October a music video was released for the song which was a montage of previous George Michael music videos and tour footage.              At first I wasn’t digging the song, I found that it wasn’t that well done but the lyrics were brilliant. When I played it the next time though it was a bit better, then the next time it was even better than the last time and sooner than later I was constantly listening to this song. It took a few listens to really get into it and when I did this song really became a memorable track. Having two brilliant musicians, Nile and George, on a track together really can’t go wrong. As a lover of all things George I can say that this song definitely makes me smile and think of how wonderful he was.

A new version of ‘Fantasy’ featuring CHIC’s Nile Rodgers, will be released on the 8th of August most likely 8th of September, promoting the Listen Without Prejudice re-release/remaster due out in October. Here’s some info loosely translated from Korean, the only info published so far:

‘Fantasy' is a song that was planned since early 2016... Nile Rogers... joined to double the fun of the original song.'Fantasy' is a song that George Michael had a great affection for. Originally released in the late '80s, his second solo album, "Listen Without Prejudice Vol.1." It was included on the “Freedom ‘90″ single. This new version from Nile Rodgers will be on the album "Listen Without Prejudice / MTV Unplugged" which will be released in October. 

George Michael's new single "Fantasy," featuring Nile Rogers, will be available on major online music sites from noon on Aug. 8.

I’ve got some mixed feelings about the new ‘Fantasy’ re-work. Overall I love the sound, and I know George was a huge fan of remixes. My face lit up when I heard the first few seconds of it. George had always admired Nile and chose him to work on this song with him. And yet... we would normally be seeing some tweets from George asking how we like the new version. 😞
