His weapons were...inadequate. Such thoughts would be unneeded if he’d been in Elrios, for Diabla would have smashed such thoughts away with reckless abandon and spite toward his dwindling state of mind, barely able to hold on to even a small percentile of sanity.
Strange, how his mind would wander as such as he would calmly keep his gun of a sort leveled at the other, safety already undone and a finger brushing delicately against the trigger, entertaining the thought of violence.
Ah--but he’d not been given permission to attack on his own. Diabla had forbid it without her knowledge first. And considering he could sense no intentions from Diabla, disconcerting as it was, he saw no other choice but to do as he saw fit.
With one smooth motion, he would retract the point of his weapon trained upon the other, his target, and would drop his arm to the side, maneuvering his hand enough to place the safety back on as per protocol. His one uncovered eye would still remain staring upon the other--a visage he himself might have had not too long ago.
It was like looking in the mirror, except all he saw is what could have been, rather than what he currently is.
It was a reminder of how empty he’d become. Knowing all this, he forced words out that he might already have known the answer to, in a voice barely more audible than a hushed whisper.
“Who.....are you?”
