"Why One Soil Test Isn't Enough"
A farmer gets a soil health report once, follows it religiously for years, and can't understand why yields fluctuate anyway.
Soil is alive and constantly changing. Crop choice, irrigation levels, rainfall, and organic matter decomposition all shift nutrient composition over time. A report from a few years back doesn't reflect today's soil.
Re-test every 1-2 years, especially before starting a new crop cycle. Many states offer subsidized or free testing through agriculture departments. Look at results as a trend across years, not a one-time verdict.
Soil tells a story over time — not in a single reading.
