PS. We love... Brisbane
All good things must come to end. So does our time in the lovely city of Brisbane which has been our home for the past three weeks. BrisVegas and its' surrounding suburbs (mainly our very own Kuraby, the location of the Finnish commune) have treated us kindly, offering an easy and relaxing way to begin our Australian adventure. We bid farewell to the city the way it deserves with the remaining Finnish girls, hitting Brisbane's night life by a storm. We ended up in the night club Birdees passing a rather long line of party goers. Why did we get past the line? Who knows! Us pretty, Nordic girls, we just can't turn this off! And the entrance fee? Pfft, please.
And now the question that's on everybody's lips: where are we going then? To a ranch in Dulacca, QLD, about 400 km west of Brisbane. Yes, to the Outback! All of this happened rather quickly. During a normal Saturday afternoon we noticed an add for farm work on Australian Backpackers' Facebook group. We contacted the guy and even though he didn't have work to offer for two people he gave us a number of his mate who was in need of more farm hands. We send this mate a text and only an hour later he called us and told us he could indeed use some help and it would be great in we could start as soon as possible, yesterday preferably. The most important question he asked: "Are you girls by any chance vegetarians?" Hellll to the no!
So there you go! These Finns are trading the city life for the charm and romance of the Outback. Yeah right! Next months will be hard work and long days. We couldn't be more ready! Bring it on!
We would love to say to Brisbane and everyone we met while living here: thank you!
