come - Adrianne Lenker | Lawrence of Arabia
I noticed a lack of edits with Daud and Farraj, so I decided to make one alongside analysing their relationship with Lawrence. Its just pure tragedy and heartbreak them three-both Daud and Farraj are scavengers for the smallest morsels of parental love and stick themselves to Lawrence in a bid to gain it.
Text excerpts used in video from 'A Prince of Our Disorder.'
Every time I rewatch Lawrence of Arabia my biggest takeaway is the same: Daud and Farraj deserved better. Those poor sweet babies just wanted to help. Their story is one of the most heartbreaking in film history, period, and nobody ever talks about them enough.
[id: gifset of farraj and majid from the movie lawrence of arabia. both are arab teenage boys, with farraj wearing a black headwrap and brown robes, and majid wearing a white headwrap and black-and-white robes. while the boys are arming an explosive on a railway line, majid hands farraj a box of detonators. they pause as their fingers brush each others' and make prolonged eye contact. end id.]
Farraj and Majid making eyes at each other over the box of detonators, just as he was getting over Daud's death and right before...

The finished version of Baba Lawrence reading something for the boys
This scene is so devastating oh my god?? Poor Daud and Farraj deserved way better
I have been working for 7 hours straight on another LOA edit. Never underestimate an autistic person's dedication once their hyperfixated.
It makes me sad how no one remembers Daud and Farraj. It's very clear Lawrence blames himself for leading Daud to his death and is extremely protective of Farraj after, demanding lemonade and a bed he promised for them when at the British consulate.
When Lawrence has to mercy shoot Farraj, he doesn't have time to mourn, he has to run off and it seems like they're never mentioned again. They were loyal and believed in Lawrence and Lawrence loved them.
They were Aurens' boys.
