Hello! So I saw an anti-IH post about how it's not that big of a deal that Orihime is in the Royal Realm with Ichigo because it's just going to be a repeat of what happened in the Soul Society Arc. Any thoughts on this? I personally think Orihime being in the Royal Realm is great for IH because it shows that Ichigo has faith in Orihime's strength and that Orihime is going to get more chances to protect Ichigo. I think the antis are just grasping at straws at this point.
A repeat of the SS arc? Meaning they’ll be split up? It’s possible, but that doesn’t take away from all of the momentum IH has already been given in this arc, and even if they all do split up, just like before, they’ll meet up again. And that’s when Orihime cried to Ichigo and he gave her the puppy dog eyes for the first time. Not a bad place to be at all, but we’ve only gone up from there, so who knows what could happen this time? Especially now that a mutual attraction has been confirmed. (And it’s interesting that people are hoping Ichigo and Orihime will be separated since apparently them being in the same place together is a threat lol.)But separated or not, in order for it to be a ‘repeat of SS,’ Kubo would have to cancel out all of the development he’s written for IH over the course of the series and somehow revert them back to the way they were in the beginning arc…in the final arc (makes perfect sense lol). Not to mention, the playing field has changed since then. i.e. Orihime didn’t get to play a very big role in SS arc because she (and Chad) were the ‘underdogs’ for much of the series and it simply wasn’t her time yet. But see, now is the time when being the underdog pays off, because they’re given the spotlight in the finale. Their training in HM was kept a secret, giving way to new abilities/power-ups that we haven’t even seen yet. They’re going to play a bigger role now, especially Orihime, given that the reveal of her powers/origins was saved for last (and the closest person in relation to Orihime wanting to become stronger like she is now, has always been Ichigo. It’s easy to connect the dots on where that could lead). Plus, with Ishida tagging along with Yhwach, this arc seems to be heavily centered around the Karakura kids (Ichigo, Chad, Orihime, Ishida) just like how it all started with the four of them fighting side by side at the very beginning of the arc. People want Chad and Orihime to be shoved into the background with small roles like they were in SS arc, but it’s the finale, now. And in the spread that kicked off the decent to RR, who was up front and center with Ichigo? I rest my case.
