Verdict-Loud, action packed, and thrilling, Fast Five proves to be a new and exciting addition to ‘The Fast And The Furious Franchise’. Much like it’s predecessor ‘Fast And Furious’, Fast Five brings back more fan favorite actors like Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, and Matt Schulze in their respected roles, making the film that much better. But Fast Five’s main stride is in the addition of new cast members. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Elsa Pataky elevate the film to a whole other level with their on-screen presence. The full cast consisting of fan favorites and newcomers is what makes Fast Five so great. All actors deliver in great performances, and the new characters are easy to fall in love with and have great character development. Complimented with a good story and loads of practical effects, Fast Five is arguably the best film in ‘The Fast And The Furious Series’

Fast Five

okay so the reboot gave the series its mojo back but sacrificed plot, and I think the makers have tried to address this point, but it feels overdone. The stripped-back plot of 1 and 4 succumbs to a twisty chase thriller with the addition of a twitchy Dwayne Johnson looking to impress as the chief police officer. It does have some extra grit to add to the mix and, in typical style, the brio and verve of the better instalments can be seen in the brilliantly executed action sequences. The police plot thread is frankly quite dull and Pataky and Johnson just don't fit will together. But whilst the plot can feel a bit overly contrived and even soap-like in some ways, what's important is that it's quite fun even if for most of it you don't know what's going on

Muscle cars driven by pec-flexing guys watched by girls in hotpants… you’d think the Fast And The Furious franchise would’ve run out of gas by now. Think again. This latest instalment, beginning immediately where the previous episode left off, is like The Avengers for F&F fans. With disparate characters from past episodes recalled to duty, it’s like Dominic Torreto (Vin Diesel) says to now-pregnant sis Mia (Jordana Brewster): “The family just got bigger.”

Still, getting bigger is what this car-crunching franchise is all about – and on that score FF5 doesn’t disappoint. Forget FF4’s opening gas-tanker heist. Here, we’ve barely taken our seats before Mia and ex-cop boyfriend Brian (Paul Walker) have busted Dom out of the prison bus we last left him on.

Say what you like about director Justin Lin’s lack of subtlety (or understanding of the laws of physics), but he knows how to kick-start an action movie.
