Calm. Control. Compete. Cody took to the all-comer’s track meet last night in preparation for @usatfmasters track championships next month. The wind challenged her but she didn’t give up. We started our morning with @theamshakeout read while cuddling in bed. Then we progressively made our way to the daily struggle of teeth brushing, it takes forever, WHY!?! 🤷🏾‍♂️. I had planned to run for 1 hour 30 minutes, we’re still on schedule. Then of course he’s at the stage of independence and wants to put his own clothes on-parents with a toddler you understand the level of patience this requires (meanwhile my run time is getting cut shorter and shorter 🧐). And finally after eating his breakfast and packing mamá’s prepared lunch for him, his shoes are on and we’re about to get in the car (which now means I have ~1 hour to run) he says, “Papá, I want to ride my bike to school”- which is a first!!! ❤️. Not going to lie, initially I was like 🤦🏾‍♂️, then I immediately loaded his bike in the car, we drove down the hill. Parked about a mile away from his school and he was so STOKED to be riding to school. Today I ran for 33minutes and 11 seconds with a full heart and a mind at peace that we are doing our best as his parents to fuel his adventure bug and his own value for fitness and wellness. Parenting isn’t easy, but it is beyond rewarding. Tomorrow is a new day of opportunities 😍!! #FasterAsAMaster 😂 •• Comenzamos nuestra mañana leyendo @theamshakeout mientras nos abrazábamos en la cama. Luego, progresivamente, nos abrimos paso a la lucha diaria de cepillarse los dientes, toma una eternidad, ¡¡¿POR QUÉ ?! 🤷🏾‍♂️. Había planeado correr durante 1 hora y 30 minutos, aún estamos a tiempo. Luego, por supuesto, él está en la etapa de independencia y quiere ponerse su propia ropa.
