From about 64 cm to exactly 364 cm in one week. Phyllostachys nigra is the fastest growing plant in my garden. Last week it was just over knee high. That's around 43 cm or 1.4 feet of growth each day. I originally had planned on daily updates, but I got distracted with our party preparations and other plants that needed to be watered and transplanted. Maybe daily photos would be boring, anyway. Let's check it again in a week. I once was telling a gardener friend from Torino about how fast my black bamboo grows, and he said "Yeah, I know. And it is just as fast running along horizontally, so watch out!" It turns black in its second year.
