Fated Encounter

The Zora was almost dead on the shores of Lake Hylia.

The Zora Hall, back in Termina, had been attacked by a three pirate ships. The all-female crew had descended in the Hall and destroyed it, and killed most of the Zoran people. Most, really, because only a handful of Zoras had been away at the time of the attack. Mikau and his band, The IndigoGos, had been in Clock Town for a concert. They had came back to the Great Bay, where the Zora Hall was situated, and saw the state the outer shielding was in. No pirate ship in the horizon, the band members swam in the ocean and entered the Hall. Inside, it was pure desolation and ruins. The artificial lake by the stage was blood red, dead Zoras floating in the tainted water. A single shocked gasp from Lulu, the singer, echoed in the now dead Hall. Soon enough, doors from various homes slammed opened and pirates rushed outside, unsheathing their blades and assuming an attack stance, closing in on the band members. A pirate lifted her blade to attack, and that’s when Mikau noticed an opening in their formation. Using this opportunity to his advantage, the tall Zora deflected the attack with one on his arm-fins. Blood and scales flew everywhere from the force of the impact, but effectively stopped the blade from reaching his arm. He grabbed the trapped assailant by the wrist and shifted his weight, using his superior height and build to his advantage, threw the female pirate onto another, shouting at the members to escape. The Zora bought them enough time to safely escape, but he wasn’t out of the wood yet. By the time Mikau managed to get away, long and strenuous minutes later, he was already half-dead.

Both his arm-fins had been cut through, there were a few gashes on his flanks and ribs, his head-tail had been pierced from one side to the other near the tip and he sported a long cut on his right shoulder. With every ounce of energy he had left, Mikau had jumped and dived into the ocean, swimming away as fast a he could. The sea-water was stinging in his wounds, his blood seeping in the water at an alarming rate. Soon he was too exhausted to even move and he let himself be carried by underwater current. He lost consciousness, only to wake up who knows home much time later, bloodied, broken, weak and all alone, on the shores of Lake Hylia.
