Spirited away [Fatal frame!AU]

People had disappeared. Whichever were the rumors around it, from scams to alien abductions, that fact wouldn’t change. Of course, considering the mysterious nature of the manor that was pinpointed as the last known destination of the group, the main explanation was that they had been ‘spirited away’. And even if it was nothing but a rumor, the anxiety that could be felt in town was real.

There was no way Yaguchi Kyousuke, afraid of everything even remotely close to a ghost would go near to a place like that. Not even if hell froze all over.

Well, that was actually an exaggeration. There was a much easier way of getting him to act, and that was having someone close to him -a friend and a girl he founded cute at that- suggest going to investigate on her own.

Admittedly, Aigis was a very serious girl and might have no problem dealing with things on her own, but there was a part of him that wanted to show off. And another part that wanted to make sure she wouldn’t get hurt. Nothing to say, it was probably him being egoistic anyway; because he had some sort of unresolved feelings for the blond. Not that he would push them into her or ask for any favors later... but if he had a chance of winning her favor before she fell for his cousin like everyone seemed to do... why not give it a try? At least that was his way of rationalizing the terribly crazy thing he was about to do.

He ended up arriving first -which was actually great because he could hardly imagine himself walking inside by his own to catch up to the girl- standing idly right by the door... just getting frightened by the sight alone.

“Fff-” he was very close to cuss at the sudden calling, but managed to stop right on time, golden eyes turning towards her “F-finally you are here... I was wondering if maybe you had decided not to come... So... are you sure you want to do this?”

The Manor of Sleep // Fatal Frame AU

Izumi lifted his brand new camera. The weight of it, significantly more than the old one, felt as a proof of its worth: several months of part-time jobs and lack of sleep were finally getting their payoff. But it was all fine. It was something he had always wanted, just like his bike. And just the same, he had worked his ass off for the money to get it. No matter how much he complained and what he said, he was a hard-worker, and getting the desired prize after working hard for it was an experience of bliss he treasured greatly.

Now to enjoy his camera. He had decided to go to an old building, for the architecture in such places is the finest one can find, the run-down feel of the tainted walls, fallen stairs and broken windows a great objective for the lens of his marvelous new camera.

Snap.

He took the picture of one of the windows, remaining of curtains floating idly at the side, and then turned around to one of the stairs.

He closed one of his eyes, focusing all his attention in the one that was looking through the lenses of the camera, trying to find the best shot. Feet lifting themselves from the ground, he stepped to the side and dragged his body along with it, still focused only in the sight through the camera.

A bit more to the left. He repeated the movement, his body moving very slowly as he did so. Ah, this one position was better. he could almost guess a shadow on the crumbled stairs. Long black hair and silky white skin...

Snap.

As the flash came out, the figure seemed to turn even brighter. The shadow of the stairs twisting oddly in the lower end, where the diagonal should have followed a straight down line of black as drapped curtains. He could hear the distant sound of bells, like those from the shrines... Through a parted curtain or black hair, a lonely dark eye staring at him coldly.

Whole body clenching up, Izumi lowered the camera on instict, ready to face the woman in front of him. Yet, there was no one. The shadow of the stairs hid absolutely nothing. Blue eyes jumping nervously, he hastly pressed the back button on his camera to check. There was nothing on the picture either... odd.

A white hand reached for his back, tapping it strongly, and he felt his heart leave his body. Turning on himself with a gasp, he found a familiar petite figure right behind him. it was his little sister. Step-sister... but sister all the same.The little bother just had to appear with the worst timing.

“A-ka-zu-kin. Don’t just come out of nowhere like that! It’s annoying” he questioned, a frown going strong on his forehead now that the fear had subsided “I said you could come ONLY if you didn’t bothered me!”
